CC vs CS girth gains
It’s well-known that the CS (which includes the glans and the underside of the shaft) expands much more easily than the CC during girth work.
From what I can tell from anatomy diagrams, this is likely because the CS is contained within the Buck’s fascia, whereas the CC is wrapped in Buck’s fascia as well as the TA.
So the connective tissues encasing the CS are fewer and more malleable, versus the CC which is constrained by the much tougher TA.
Now, on one hand I have seen posts claiming that the greater elasticity of the CS means it is inherently easier to gain there, while others claim that gaining in that region is impossible due to its composition.
Kind of like how if you stretched a fruit leather and a rubber band with equal force, the fruit leather would deform before the rubber band did, and the fruit leather would tear before the band reached its elastic limit.
If that’s true, then underside and glans gains would be impossible, because you’d tear/injure your CCs long before it happened.
Still, there are many anecdotal reports of CS/glans gains.
So what’s going on here?
