I recently read that to increase circulation throughout your body you should take cold showers! Does anyone think this will help with PE?

Probably not.

The idea is to warm the penis so that it will stretch more easily, thus causing the skin and flesh to stretch with out bruising.

It’s the same reason as warming up before you do sports etc. So it might lead to damage such as a cold and stiff flaccid. and bruising.

Penises and testicles don’t particularly like cold.

I didn’t really mean that cooling the penis before exercise but rather would having the cold showers not only increase circulation, but also assist gains.

I do agree warming up helps with stretching and PE.

Poor Circulation Herbs to Improve Bad Blood Flow see the bit about hot and cold treatments. It says by having hot shower then putting on the cold will improve circulation!

Well as I said, it will cool the penis and shrink it. Dn’t forget the penis is not a muscle. and to a certain extent works in a different way as it closes off the blood supply out of the penis.

However give it a try if you wish -It shouldn’t harm you unless you use ice cold water.

The mechanism by which cold showers increase circulation is that the superficial tissue temperature is dropped by the cold water, so the body flushes the areas with fresh, warm blood to return the area to body temperature.

If you have had a very hard PE session, you could use cold (shower, baths or ice pack) to help flush the tissues through, removing inflammatory by-products from the cells and assist with reducing potential discolouration. This has been covered in detail on this site. Unless you have really over-done it, it’s probably not that beneficial, and firegoat rolls will take care of the discolouration from most PE workouts, and flush plenty of fresh blood through the tissues.

On cold and stretch : I try, on myself, having a stretch after keeping the penis in a cold water for 60 sec.
The stretch was incredibly easy. I put very light force and obtained a longer stretch ,then usually have with heating first (and with a strong traction).

I not sure about the side effect,but the stretch was very good. I put very very light force and I feel like it was an elastic,instead a piece of meat.

Some ideas?

Interesting, I didn’t try it but it seems counter intuitive .

I have read on many body builder forums that taking “cold” shower after workout is beneficial to reduce swelling of muscles from intense workout.

How many of you start with “hot” warm-up and then finish with “cold” wrap/shower? I understand cold water will cause the penis to “retract/turtle”, but some of you actually use an ADS/Extender to keep the penis in elongated position, while applying cold wrap on the shaft.

Is this method effective? Any experienced PEers out there who can share their stories?

i have a warm up 10 minutes and a cool down 1 minute with cold water but not ice cold.

Cooling down any more than 2 minutes can cause turtling

Cool down is very useful as it boost gains,warm down on the other hand is counterproductive.

I am bit confused too. Based on the guys on Bodybuilder forums, most would say “cool down” AFTER workout is better for the muscles.

However, on this forum, many use “warm-down” to finish their PE routine.

Perhaps, we need to adopt a different approach to penis and muscles???

It does make sense to cool down to speed up the healing process (after an extended period of expansion from stretching and jelqing). However, some highly speak against the “turtling effect”, so it would make sense to rest your penis in an extended state by using light force from “ADS or extender” devices (ie. vacADS, golfweights etc).

I am more inclined to cool down my penis after a workout, but only with an ADS for at least 30min to a couple hours so that the penis doesn’t retract backward. Our muscles don’t retract backward like penises do.. lol

Any other thoughts?

Cool Down After Each Workout
For one reason or another, some men “warm up” after a workout in hopes they’ll increase the benefits that heat provides. This isn’t recommended. A chief reason the warm up is so important is that it increases the elasticity of your penis. Increased elasticity however, is not what you want at the end of your workout. Post workout, the goal is to keep your penis in an enlarged and stretched state. Applying heat to your penis counteracts this goal.
Instead of applying heat to your penis after a workout, try applying cold. Many men find that it helps boost gains and keep the penis in a stretched state. For a cool down, apply cold to your penis using a cold wash cloth, a cold pack that has been sitting in the fridge (not the freezer), or some cold water. Keep the cool down applies for one to two minutes. Just make sure it’s not too cold, or your penis is liable to contract and shrink up.

Can anyone verify if there’s any truth to Wamrage’s comments? I am currently warming down after PE sessions but will try this cool down method if others can vouch for it.
