Incrementalized routine question

Incrementalized routine question

I noticed that the newbie routine has you start at 200 jelqs or if you use the linear newbie routine it starts you at like 20 and you work up to that, and as far as pumping goes you start out low as well.the question I have is, is it normal not to gain using low numbers of jelqs (like 50) or beginning pumping durations(or in my case, both in the same session)? Do gains start coming once you actually reach and exceed the 200 jelqs, or is something else important there?

Some people gain at the lower number of jelqs. Others at the higher. Really it varies from one guy to the next.

The advantage of the linear newbie is that you start slow and don’t over train, plus you might get good growth at lower amounts of work, so why do more? The full newbie routine is too much for some people and can cause problems in some cases. But, the more you do, if you are doing it right, well this might maximise your gaining rate at the start of your PE career.

The key to it all is to really carefully monitor your phyisological indicators, and make sure you aren’t overtraining and also not do so little that you don’t gain. Nothing mysterious at all.

74zowee86 gave a good answer. No one can control how hard your jelqs are, how long you take over each jelq, how good your technique is etc.

There are no magic numbers, you have to go by feel. The linear newbie lets you learn feel as you go along, and with PE it’s important not to do much more than you need to.

This is a good read for understanding why it’s a good thing to start with the linear newbie routine. It MAY seem slow at first but there’s a good chance it will be better in the long run. :)

RE-RE-Started (21.03.2024): 5.5" BPEL, 4.5" MSEG

Current: 5.5" BPEL, 4.7" MSEG

Current Goal: 6.6" BPEL, 5.3" MSEG -- Long Term Goal: 7.1" BPEL, 5.5" MSEG

Good link viksenpai. :)

To me, if you’re jelqing right then 200 jelqs takes so fucking long. Focus on quality not quantity.

I can.

But would you really want me of all people rummaging around in your mind with ultra-secret 1950’s tech? I can program you to have perfect form, exert perfectly consistent force, and to visualize like an East German power lifter.

But as long as I am in their I will probably go ahead and give you a make over. For your own good. O:-)

Clean up your diet. Stop with the cigarettes/porn. Start visiting your grandparents on the weekend. Be nicer to cats. Get rid of your funny accent. Improve your form in a variety of exercises. Go ahead and make you uber-marathon and multi-orgasmic while I am at it.

Fix you right up!

I got better… :)

Nope, the deal is off.

I first started off with the newbie routine and it killed my EQ. After taking a week off, I re-started with a routine a lot like the linear routine (starting with very short jelq sessions and gradually increasing over time) and it’s worked out much better for me. Everyone’s different — that’s why the two different options.

Starting (May 2010): BPEL:6" EG: 4 7/8". Current (April 2011): BPEL: 6 3/4" EG: 5 1/4".

Short Term Goal: BPEL: 7" EG: 5.25" Long Term Goal: When my wife makes me stop or 8"x6" (whichever comes first)

It’s different per person. I for one are still on the same routine for the fourth month, because I’m still gaining.

Do not change your routine if you are gaining. This is unnecessary and you might even be overtraining!

Just build up your routine, and as soon as you notice your first gains, stop incrementing. You have to remember that

PE is all about repetition and long-term dedication, not short term.

I’m not gaining, which is why I was wondering if starting out low didn’t gain for some. Currently I’m doing a 3 on one off where I pump for 5 mins/50 jelqs/pump 4/50 more jelqs, and sometimes I’ll only pump 5 mins and do 80 jelqs all at once. So, that’s the most I’ve worked up to, less than half the jelqs of the 200 in the non-linear newbie routine. I also have been doing a lot of cardio and attempting to restrict calories to lose fat, so in the last week I’ve started eating more and cutting back on running to see if that was holding me back.
