Nerve damage - now what

I think that I injured one of my dorsal nerves in my penis by being too rough with it, a few days ago. At first, it felt like a tingling pain. The tingling has decreased, but so has my sensitivity. I can still reach orgasm, but it is more difficult, and it doesn’t feel like much until I am right on the edge or orgasm. I don’t know if I could perform during intercourse.

Is this something that can heal itself, or can surgery help? I had nerve damage on one side from years ago, but was able to perform. Now this has reduced the feeling I still had. So, what should I do? I am thinking about trying not to touch it for a couple of weeks. I don’t know that any supplements would help. I’m pretty sure most doctors would say there is nothing they can do, unless I can find one that has experience in restoring nerves through surgery.

I’m pretty sure it’s nerve damage.. I’m gonna try to stay calm for a few weeks, and see how it feels. If I can still have kids, then fine. If not, I’m not sure what I will do. I read an article about experimental surgeries that were done that involved transplanting nerves into the penis. About a third of the patients that had ED were then able to have an erection suitable for intercourse: I found the Dr.’s contact info.

I would go with about a 95% chance it will heal on its own if you lay off PE for a while. Once it does heal, you have to learn from your mistakes and lay off the rough stuff. PE is not a game of force. It is a game of finesse.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Honestly, I haven’t even started PE yet. It was from squeezing/rubbing it too hard. I hope you are right about it healing.

Nerves are pretty tough as well. They heal quite easily though it takes some time. I once had a nerve pinch in my toe. My toe went completely numb for months until I stopped wearing a certain pair of flip flops. Within a month sensation was restored and I was fine. Stop what you’re doing and let your nerve heal and you should be fine. Just be aware that the nerve cells that you have are the only ones you get. You can’t grow new ones, so take care of what you have.

Thinking back, this kind of sharpness followed by numb happened to me back when I first started. I took a few days off and everything went back to normal.

Masturbating.. I wasn’t able to get an erection yesterday, and didn’t have an erection in the morning today. But I was able to get it up and orgasm today.. So I guess my life isn’t necessarily over yet.

I seem to have feeling in the shaft, but the head is much less sensitive and sore. So I am thinking of leaving it alone for at least a couple of weeks, and taking supplements that are supposed to help with nerve regeneration (ALC, L - arginine, Co Q10). Has anyone tried ginsing or yohimbe?

Also, I remember reading that pumping can help to make the penis more sensitive. Should I start a low-pressure pumping routine later?

Pumping? Pumping or any form of PE later… much later. Later, as in, after you’re fully recovered, and then some. If it was my penis, I would not expose it to any supraphysiological forces until after it was fully healed.

Nerve damage, depending on severity, can take months to heal. I’m not trying to discourage you but I would take more than a few weeks off. You surely don’t want to risk making your injury worse.

In the meantime, load up on the B vitamins. They are essential for keeping nerves healthy and for healing damaged nerves. The two B vitamins that are most beneficial for nerve repair/regeneration are B1 and B12.

Be sure to get Benfotiamine (B1) and Methylcobalamin (Methyl-B12). These are fat soluble, so they stay in your system way longer than their water soluble counterparts.
