Deconditioning (decon) Breaks: How and Why?

Smooth muscle doesn’t require deconditioning, and a couple of days off is usually enough for it to rest. Tunica and ligaments are basically the same tissue types and both can get much stronger/tougher. Both require extended deconditioning breaks if you want them to loose some strength.

TG, do you recommend 1 week off every six weeks with an extender? I am paranoid I would lose gains or momentum, as the manufacturers and some advocates say consistency at 6-8 hours each day is key, otherwise you are wasting your time. I take the weekends off and do 6 hours each week day, with a few 15 minutes jelqing sessions thrown in.

I say it, regardless of what you’re doing, you need to take at least 1 week off after 6 weeks of training. I’m pretty sure you asked me this before at some point and I’ve recommended the same.

The manufacturers of PE devices do not do Penis Enlargement. They have a business. That business is making their product sell and making it very difficult to return. That is all.

I don’t recall asking you specifically about taking one week off after every six weeks. Apologies if I sound repetitive. As regards the companies selling extenders, yes, these products are heavily marketed with a lot of mixed advice and spurious claims, particularly that they significantly increase girth. I guess all we do in take advice from multiple sources and pay attention to physiological indicators and do what seems to work best for us when using them.

Interesting and counter intuitive.. But not really. I’ve been bib hanging for about a year and saw great results. But it did stall. But I had stalled about 5 months ago as well at 7 3\4 and hit a small injury forcing me to take time off for the first time since I started hanging. This is something I was under the impression that you don’t do because you’ll lose your conditioning, but had to take 2 weeks. During this break I lost length. About 1/4” or so. I got back into it and followed the progression and the loss came back quick and I pushed passed that stubborn plateau to 8”. The conditioning came back rather quick and I was able to ride that fatigue and climb back to my previous weights before the injury. I’ve hit another plateau. It’s hard to want to take a break as the last one was unintentional, but this has me thinking. I’ll be reading the next 2 installments but does anyone else have thoughts with respect to hanging and losing your conditioning as it takes time to build back up. I do miss the gains

It looks like you’ve answered your own question. I mean, if you’re stalled, your conditioning isn’t serving you a purpose so deconditioning and giving yourself another chance to gain is a reasonable risk to take. When you’re literally burning time doing nothing while plateaued you have to think: “Am I too scared to try something else? Or too stubborn?”

Most hangers are stubborn and stick strictly to the every day is victory technique. But sometimes, that has to stop.

It seems to me that if the penis is conditioned into a sort of survival state, that once deconditioned it’d be more easily toughened again than say a newbie penis.

Maybe a long deconditioning break with light stretching or edging or massaging just to encourage blood flow, followed by a vary gradual linear routine starting at a minimum level (very minimal, just to try to stave off reconditioning). It’s like a balance between too little and too much. Obviously this is just complete speculation and would vary greatly from guy to guy since the tunica and ligaments are different for everyone.

For a hanger it could even mean just start hanging with a weight that is so low that it doesn’t stretch near max FSL even. Sort of signalling the body that it can relax, while still maintaining or promoting cell division.

Just as a relavent piece of information, it appears vitamin d3 has been shown to promote cell division in stretched smooth muscle. The study was on veins/arteries but basically they stretched the tissue for 48 hours and found that D3 (some say it’s a hormone) promoted growth.

I’ve been trying to understand how to locally, transdermally, administer d3. It appears to penetrate with aloe vera oil and there is a commercial product with aloe. Better yet is ethanol and this other chemical (can’t remember the name but I could find it). They sell purfumers ethanol which may work but obviously you’d want to be careful. Aloe is less penetrating but also safer I’m sure. That combined with this oil that is made from sea cucumbers haha. Apparently they have a protein which softens smooth muscle. I have no idea if the oil would contain said protein. I think they produce it to alter their bodies.

I’ve between clamping religiously since July with no gains and am heading towards a decon break but had a question.

Can I switch to hanging for three months to focus on length and let girth decon or do I need to stop everything?

Penis tissue toughens to stimuli period. Your dick don’t know or care what you’re doing to it once you start attaching devices a decon means attaching zero devices. Zero exercises.

Decon breaks seem like a good idea but I’m worried that they will make me fall off of my routine and it will be hard to start back up.

They can do that. Question becomes..
is a routine you consistently do that isn’t working worth more than time off and giving yourself a second chance at gaining?

I seem to have hit a plateau, I have been hanging 17.5 lbs for about 6 sets of 20 minutes a day… After reading this thread that seems ridiculous. Does taking a 1 month De conditioning break sound good? Or should I wait longer than that? I want to start seeing gains again.

How long have you been hanging? What gains have you seen in what time period? How long since you’ve gained?

I’ve been hanging for about 4 years. I know that’s a long time. I mainly only noticed major gains in my flaccid hang, girth and base girth; not to mention it looks a lot more vascular and heavy. These are the main reason I’ve been hanging up until about a year ago.

Now, I realize, I don’t see the point if I cannot increase erect length!

When I first measured years back, I recall being about 5 1/2 inches (not sure if I did not press the ruler to the bone then, so I can’t say for sure, but I believe I gained about an inch from hanging.) I just don’t know for a fact because I didn’t document my progress until the past year and since then I’ve been at a plateau… I don’t feel comfortable adding more weight because I have a hard time squeezing the blood out of the head before hanging and because of that, I’ve had injuries.

All I can do is read, post, take de conditioning breaks, try different angles and different variations of weights/sets (Not in a shotgun manor as stated in Hanging 101) and be patient.

My goal is to hit 7.5 BPEL and once I reach that, get as much girth as possible.
