While ligaments are being discussed I have a question. I don’t hang, but do some rather basic stretches before and during jelqs. Is it “normal” to feel a stretch as far up the torso as just below the belly button? Is that how far up these go? No I am not pulling overly forcefully. I even notice it with Fowfers.


Current average: NBPEL 7(ish)" / MSEG: 5.25"

The ligs themselves don’t go up that high, but the Rectus Abdominis and Linea Alba do, and being connected it is normal to feel the stretch that far up.

If you feel that the main stretch force seems to be falling there, place your non-stretching hand on your pubis and push slightly ‘inward and upward’, in effect stretching the opposite way, so that more of the stress is transferred back to the ligs you are trying to stretch. The ligs are stronger than the opposing force you can generate, as you have nothing to really grip onto, but it will help.

When stretching those ligs, or any penis stretching, if held for long enough can you feel it sort of “release” some of it’s tension? Similar to sitting on the ground stretching your hamstrings. That is a huge muscle and ligaments there. The first time you reach forward, you may only get to ankles. So you hold it, lean back and go for it again until you get closer and closer to your toes. Eventually, over time you can rest your face on your lap. Same principle or totally different due to the stricture?

Also, have any of you seen the special on Dr Drew show about penile enlargement? I think it’s the Discovery Health channel. It was of course mostly medically based, but did touch on the penile anatomy, ligs, post surgery stretching and hanging, and pumps. Even referenced that erections are actually not a flexing of the areas “muscles” but actually a relaxing of the muscles. Also showed medical diagram of penis and the various chambers and make-up. I will have to re watch it, but I swore the voice made it sound as if it was primarily muscle. Very interesting.

You do get that sort of ‘release’ feeling if you are not stretching too hard to begin with. I talked a bit about it here: /forum/showthread.php?p=1189877#post1189877

Stretching hamstrings is slightly different, as you are primarily stretching muscle and very secondarily, the tendons. Unless you are a ballet dancer or gymnast, you don’t want to stretch the ligaments or you will destabilize the joints. They do stretch the ligs to some degree to give them their range of movement, then they have to keep their muscles strong for life to assist their lax ligs in stabilization. They achieve their lig stretching the same way we do in PE; by consistent, regular stretches, held for the optimum time at the correct level of force, as discussed in the link above.

That is what they do during lengthening surgery. But not under a ‘local antistatic!:)

The only time we use ‘-scope’ or ‘-scopy’, in the UK is in such compound words as ‘arthroscopy’, as in ‘to look inside a joint’.

-scopy or -scope is a suffix derived from the Latin ‘scopium’, denoting ‘an instrument which is used for the purposes of viewing’, as in microscope, telescope, etc. It in turn derives from the Greek ‘skopien’ - to examine.

Alongside an endoscope, an attached instrument of some kind may be introduced for the purpose of performing surgery, biopsy etc.

However, the idea of a blade anywhere in the vicinity of my penis is a most unappealing thought! I may be perfectly happy daily dealing with other peoples blood, and sometimes my own, but deliberate damage to my bodily structures (especially ‘down there’) does not bear thinking about.

I had an arthroscopic procedure two weeks ago on the ol’ shoulder. They told me I would need to keep my arm in a sling for 6 weeks; by day 10 I had absolutely no need for it. In fact, wearing it brought on mild discomfort :rolleyes: .
