Mine is the Remington I-Light Pro Face & Body. (IPL = Intense Pulsed Light). I did a bit of research at the time, and this seemed one of the best. There is another called a Philips Lumea, which is cable free. I didn’t buy this one because I was concerned about battery life span, and what would happen if it failed.
The lamps last a lot longer than the older models. I’ve been using it for nearly a year now, and still have the original lamp. I’m happy with it, but as I said in the previous post, results are mixed.
One thing you’ll have to remember is that the lamp is much smaller than the ones in the professional hair removal places. It takes me over an hour to do my legs, for example.
My wife had her body done in a professional hair removal place, and the results were better… but you can be paying big money for the treatment. She uses the Remington to touch up places, when necessary. For me, the Remington is perfect for my needs, as I don’t have much body hair… except for the legs.
If you have a lot of body hair, I’d say go the professional route first, then use some type of home unit to touch up… works for the wife. Another thing, if you have very dark skin and/or blond hair, it’s probably not going to be any good for you, (very dark skin = very badly burnt skin).
