How to Read & Adjust Rod style Traction Devices (X4/Size Genetics/JES/Similar)

I have to keep adjusting.. For whatever reason, my head is always slipping through the sling very, very slowly, as I usually wear the device for 1.5 hours at a time, three times a day.. I can’t tighten the strap anymore.

I also worked out a solution for the discomfort.. It’s so simple I can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner.

Share the discomfort solution. I never truly mastered that when I wore it and I’m sure many of us haven’t.

My Extender and forward to 10" and balls enhancement project. There is no "Holy Grail" of Penis Enlargement. Only time and effort works. I'm *10* years in and counting. All you have to do is put the work in and keep the faith.

Your head slipping through gradually because the noose is not anchored well. As I wrote earlier in this thread using a DIY velcro strap mod with some wrapping will solve that. Another reason you need to keep adjusting is because of Stress Relaxation. Search for posts in Thunders on the subject, especially by the one started by Rootsnatty.

Hey thoughtful! I don’t know what the other persons discomfort solution is but I have started wrapping the head with toilet paper, then wrap a cut cloth of cotton from a t-shirt around that, as a buffer between the silicone and my dick. Basically I unwind the toilet paper about 5-7 times into a length of about 8-10 inches long, then fold it in half and wrap that around the head. It has greatly reduced the amount of grip around my skin and also stopped slippage.

Somewhatcranky,

I put on enough enough bars that I can comfortably attach the extender while compressed. Then release the tension giving a comfortable tug. I make sure that I am flaccid and warmed up before strapping in. I have the X4 labs gold edition using the comfort straps with foam pads. After a while I will increase pull by turning the screws to get desired tug but never making it painful. Pain is not your friend here. I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the responses, everyone. 😘

Is feeling a stretch pain? I don’t understand. And pain is subjective, really.

I can tell you what I feel: little prickles around the base and where the strap meets the head. The skin is tight, but not so tight there is no give.

This generally doesn’t make me wince, but if I sit in a different position, it can be painful.

Also, I have rather elastic skin, for someone my age. So that may matter.

Like was said before, I now have bars on it that are comfortable to get into, and I stretch at the first line of tension. Sometimes a bit more, depending.. As a session goes on, I may take the tension higher.

My model is the x4 labs basic.. I just didn’t see a reason to get the other stuff. Especially the pills; seeing those on the website almost broke the deal for me.

.Merely wearing this device is engaging in pseudoscience enough for me. Lol

I am up to 4 hours a day total. Yesterday, I did 5 hours. Plan to take off Sunday, though.

Okay, so the pain solution.. This is only for discomfort from the weight of the device sitting too heavy on the prostate: get a pair of suspenders, the clip-on type, not the button ones, and clip the single strap to anywhere on the end of the device furthest from you. Then you can link together the two straps and make a loop for your (actual) head to fit through, adjusting for comfort.

You can even try and wear the two straps around your shoulders, if the size of the suspenders permits.

This basically makes a harness, and keeps the device from falling forward and putting tons of pressure on your prostate. The only issue I have with my rude creation is that now I seem to fall left/right at times. I don’t think I have it adjusted right, yet.

I hope this helps!

Great thread. These extenders should get the “most difficult/least fun PE device” award. I am curious about the pain threshold too. I just started hanging and found 7 pounds to be moderately comfortable. I cant imagine a extender exerting that kind of pressure. Hmmmm.

Pain from an extender isn’t usually *just* from the stretch. It’s a combination of noose problems that cut circulation to your glans, chafing from the foam and dryness, the base of the device, biting your pubic bone, and then maybe too much stretch.

But yeah, least fun? YES! I started with one. They work but damn if I don’t think it’s needlessly hard on you.

This is by far the best and most informative post on extenders I could find so thanks for that. I am still searching but there doesn’t seem to be many threads in terms of actual info on routines like there is for a lot of other topics unless I’m missing them somewhere?

I just bought a basic extender with a silicone noose and also some kind of silicone strap to fasten the penis but I’m okay with the noose so far, will see how long I can wear it. I had a couple of questions and would appreciate your input on it or anybody elses with experience in this area:

1- Should I be taking it off every few hours or can I, for example, wear it for 5 hours if there’s no discomfort or numbness?
2- When I wear it it hangs down, is this correct? I see the talk about tension in the springs but increasing the tension would make it more horizontal and then it would lose its incognito benefits.
3- I’ve read about the traction etc but is that more important than using a percentage of your overall size as a gauge such as your BPEL? At the moment I’ve got it on, its hanging down and from the base to tip its about 15cm whereas my normal flacid size is about 10-12cm. In my head this seems like the thing to do as its just a gentle constant stretch but will this lead (in the common thought) to gains?

1. I would say no more than 2 hours at a time. That’s about as long as I could go at my best. Many do 1 hour and a 10 min break. Your comfort may vary.

2. The extender was not designed with incognito in mind. So you have to decide whether you want tension or stealth.

3. The theory that you use to employ your extender is the one that you decide is based most on what you think will work. Many people will use the exact same system you are using. Some prefer maximum tension for as long as possible. Some just want a minimum stretch for long periods. Then there are hybrids of all of these which make for a lot of different combinations.

People have gained using all of those methods and blends of. What is most optimum for your penis is what you decide not what anyone can tell you. My main tip for using extender simple: if it hurts then you’re not doing it right.

Thanks for the reply, I think I was getting extenders mixed up with ADS as in I thought people were using them in the same way but it sounds like its being used more as a mechanical manual stretch aid and so it would be closer to BPEL when in use. I will continue to read up what I can and mess around with how it feels, hopefully will figure out what works for me.

Exactly so. What you just said highlights the difference between a traction device and an All Day Stretcher. People who use them the same way don’t find good results, because it’s two different schools of thought. Similar but not the same.

I’m glad I was able to help you.

Does this apply to the gnetics (not size genetics) extender?

Provide a link. I’m unfamiliar with this extender but if it is built the same way the extender pictured in the first post is…it will apply.

I also have a basic extender with a silicone noose. It’s uncomfortable, but for me that isn’t the problem. I have make the noose very tight to avoid slippage, but that cuts off the circulation too much, so I have to keep checking and removing it to restore circulation. I tried to use foams, but I still have to make the noose very tight. I am stretching between 7.3” and 8”.

I was thinking of taking a peace of silicon sleeve to put between the noose and the shaft in order to enhance the area of contact and simulate the comfort straps of other brands.

Is this a good idea?

It isn’t a bad idea. However, the silicone will not friction if I’m correct and you’ll get pretty much nothing as far as traction as a result.

The X4 Labs comfort strap system seems like it works and by the time I got it to work I was no longer using extenders but it is the only alternative method that isn’t vacuum that I know of still in production. The full listing of attachments I know of are as follows:

Noose
Vacuum
Comfort strap
Clamp head

The clamp head attachment was made by Monkeybar at autoextender.com and I’m not sure if he still makes them. He also makes a vacuum conversion kit. So you can try the silicone or try another attachment system, though comfort and traction don’t ride hand in hand often in my experience.
