That’s is exactly what my “lanyard method” does! (I’m a new member here, still trying to be sure posting a new method won’t get me banned.)
I had the problem of lifting by the head pushing out all the blood to be able to hook up once I got into position, so when I tightened, I fell out and got a blister.
The lanyard method puts a lanyard around the head first, then you pull the lanyard up onto the extender.
I’m hoisting up 2” inches of stretch, till hooked up in the extender, leaving all 1” of turnbuckle adjustment to use after already at tension.
