WATER PUMPING > Air Pumping

Hopefully I'm Not Wasting My Time

I was so excited reading this thread that I ordered a cylinder, some tubing, and even the little shutoff valve. I liked the idea of low vacuum with less swelling and less chance of adverse reactions to pumping. But then I get deep into the thread and I read where sparkyx is now saying that the low vacuum does not produce results (at least not for him). How disappointing! I think I am still going to try using the luv method, but I realize I may be wasting my time. I should receive my cylinder and tubing in the mail this weekend, should I just go ahead and go to Harbor Freight and get the brake bleeder and a reservoir and not waste my time trying the luv method?

I appreciate any feedback.

And who wants to take a bath for 2-3 hours a day? :D (I would if I knew I was going to grow of course!).

You’ll become a prune!

you could go either way. I didn’t know he want on to share that it didn’t help him get gains. Did anyone mention it helping them? I have used this set up both with and without the brake bleeder set up and you can get high pressure with either your mouth or the pump.

I would personally recommend using higher pressures. Just take your time and build up pressure slowly

Thanks for the feedback. Any advice on what pressure to start at, and how long. Good question about if anybody had gains, I thought so but now I’m not sure. I would love to hear from some people that used the luv method and had gains!

Always start your pressure low, then build up to where you find most comfortable, continuing to build on it over time. In my experience, as well as other pumpers out there, once you hit a plateau on gains, you will need to increase pressure. It’s almost a necessity in order to achieve gains through pumping. As far as what level to start, 2-3Hg is always a good starting point. From there you can slowly build up over time.

Starting stats: 7.5" BPEL x 6.2" MEG

Current Stats BPEL: 8.2" [NBPEL: 7.6"] EG: 6.8" - Goal: 9x7 and beyond

Pump to whatever pressure keeps you at your current erect size then pump a little past that. I would start just pumping a centimeter past your erect size. As for time start off slow. I’d say 5 minutes to make sure you tolerate it well. I can now keep a pump on at higher pressure for 20 minutes and not have any discoloration or fluid retention. You have to build up to that point though

iron, in general you need to start at a lower pressure with water than air. With water the pressure is dispersed more evenly so higher pressures aren’t good. I’d say try 2.5hg at first and see where it gets you.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback

I really appreciate you guys taking the time to answer my questions. So if I understand correctly, if I would want to start before I get a pump and gauge (just using my mouth) I could safely measure my BPEL pull a vacuum until I am 1 cm past my BPEL in the cylinder and keep that pressure for about 5 minutes to start out? Once I get a pump, start out at about 2.5 to 3 hg for about 5 minutes and see how I tolerate. Then just work up from there. Does this sound about right?

I mentioned pumping a cm past your erect size not your BPEL. How much of a difference is there between you BPEL and NBPEL? Depending on that difference pumping out to your BPEL length may suffice for a beginning point.

I never really paid attention to the exact pressure in hg I was using. I just pumped past my EL and increased intensity and/or time cautiously.

Iron, for what it is worth, the harbor freight break bleeder pump is on sale right now for $21.99 and it has all you need to water pump with a gauge. There is probably a store near you if you are in the midwest.

Brake Bleeder and Vacuum Pump Kit

You can see in the pic it has a cup which will catch the water overflow so it won’t enter the pump itself,

Here is a thread I started a while ago that is a compilation of some different approaches to water pumping. I do believe there are instructions there on how to do it with your mouth in there somewhere:

Water Pumping Basics

That being said, I have that harbor freight pump and for $22 bucks it is a no brainer. It is great pump, same one sold by some of the cock pumping vendors for a lot more money.

Thank you so much for this! There is a store just a few miles from my house and they are having a sidewalk sale this weekend. I will definitely pick one up!

In case anyone is interested, I was able to get this pump online and used a coupon for another 20% off. So the pump went down to $17.50 +$6.99 shipping. So with the coupon the shipping is pretty much free.

You can get the coupon here: http://promocod esforyou.com/in … CFdgcgQodlT8AQQ

Hey thanks for the heads up on the coupon. I just picked this up. I do have a question as I’ve never done any pumping before.

Will the cylinder in that kit work or do I need to pick up a cylinder somewhere else?

Please ignore my previous post (or delete it). A bit of homework led me to my answer. (eBay)
