Yeah still doing the rogaine 5% at night and the generic Propecia in the morning and I wash my hair 4 times a week with 1% nizoral shampoo, And so far I’m happy with the results how it’s going with you any routine changes?

Dino, do you buy generic Propecia or generic Proscar? I just bought some CIPLA Fincar(generic Proscar) from inhousepharmacy.com and it is dirt cheap.

The only problem is turning a 5 mg pill into 1 mg but I decided to just crush it up and wing it a little bit.

Generic Proscar I have a pill cutter and cut into 4 pieces, I will check out that inhouse when I order again.

My routine is going OK. I dropped the Dutasteride because I am POSITIVE that after 8 months it caused recession of my hairline.

I am back to the big 3 of Fin, Minox and Niz.

Out of curiosity, what is your hairloss pattern like? Do you have diffuse loss, a bald spot on the crown or what?

Leatherface, you may want to get a spermcount every month or so, cause it really messed me up for good. Finasteride that is, or Propecia, whatever you call it.

And I only took it for 6 months. It does increase hair and it does cause problems to libido and so on. I asked a couple of urologist, and they said that the dermatologist, should have told me that it’s a choice between the two. If not now, then at some point it might just ‘decide’ enough and mess you up, just like that, without you even realizing it happened.

It really messed you up for good? How can that be?

So would you say your hairline is receeding, or your hair in front has just become more diffuse?

The hair follicle itself was thinning and I was starting to show some scalp but it has reversed and gotten a lot thicker my hair is thicker now than it was 8 years ago. So it was receding as the hair follicle shrank from the front back.

The reason I’m asking questions is I’m trying to pinpoint how certain hairloss patterns respond to different treatments. I’ve been around the hairloss game FOREVER and probably know more than most dermatologists about the subject.

So to clarify, you have just frontal thinning and are responding to 1.25 mg Fincar, 5% minoxidil once a day, and Nizoral 4 times a week?

How many mls of Minox are you using and how long have you been using these treatments?

Any really cheap sources for nizoral shampoo?

I use indian 5 mg finas… split into ~1/5 w/razor.
5% minox… once a day… but not religously for the past couple of years.

Ran out of nizoral. Hair shaft is thicker! Hairline almost @ the same place… slightly thinning but as I said I’ve missed some days and weeks.

No side effects from finast. Sometimes zit like scalp irritations from the minox, which was helped by american crew copper peptide spray (applied with dropper, what good is it on your hair???)

I don’t think you are going to find Nizoral cheaper than 12-13 bucks for that tiny bottle, but hey if it works, it’s worth it.

Anyone ever put tea tree oil on their head for hair loss? My mom bought this tub of vaseline-like paste with tea tree in it that claims to stimulate hair growth, I think it’s called Triple Gro. Some nurse recommended it to her saying she would give it to cancer patients when their hair started to fall out. Now, I’m certainly not going to quit my regimen of the big three, but I put it on every once in a while and am wondering if anyone else has heard anything about this.

Either way it was only three dollars for a decently sized tub. I am not recommending it to anyone, but for that cheap a price it couldn’t hurt anything.
