What does THAT mean? Where are you today?

The only minoxidil I’ve used is the Kirkland brand 5% stuff I get at Costco. I don’t like the sticky-tacky-ness of it. It feels weird on my skin and stiffens up my hair. I assume that’s the vehicle and not the medicine, but maybe not. Has anyone found a brand that leaves less whatever-that-is on the skin and hair?

The side of the bottle says it has minoxidil 5% w/alcohol 30%, propylene glycol 50%, and purified water. Must be the propylene glycol that’s tacky.

Ike, I feel the same way about the Walgreens brand minoxodil. I think it is the alcohol and PG that does it. I assumed that all the formulas are about the same but maybe not? I think I recall looking at the Walgreens vs. Rogain box when I bought them. I think they are the same.

Goon, don’t you know Formula yet? He has terrible ED, that even viagra doesn’t help.

I find that I prefer the generic Target brand over actual Rogaine. Both sort of clump your hair together but the Rogaine would also turn my hair white when it dried and the Target brand doesn’t do that. It also seems a bit less sticky to me.

Hello everyone! I’m a 26 year old male and starting to see thinning hair on the crown of my head and some receding hair line, I was wondering what would be some options to go with to try to halt an maybe grow some back? I’m not liking the ideal of taking pills for alot of people saying it cause sexually side effects , I have been looking at these topical products and was curious as to do you buy one product just for the crown an one for the hair line? Don’t fall for the info-mercial and back-of-magazine miracle cures for baldness. The known treatments that have data to back up their claims are the ones discussed in this thread.

I don’t balme you for being hesitant to take propecia. I feel the same way.

I don’t think the treatments are different for hair line vs. crown. I think the treatments seem to have a better rate of success at the crown.

MY advice is to use his standard minoxidil solutions as opposed to his expensive Xandrox solution.

About two minutes and I use that time to stretch my ball sack:) Never waste time

When I have the nizoral on, I stretch my ball sack with one hand, do dumbell curls with the other, trade stocks with my bluetooth headset on, and type stupid comments with my nose to Thundersplace forum on my lap top. :)

On a more serious note, I just finished my first minoxidil bottle and think I see less scalp under the bright lights of my bathroom. I thought it was just because my hair was longer, but I got it cut short and I still think it is a bit thicker than it used to be.

I’ve been experiencing hair loss recently and my friend recommended Nioxin shampoo. Not sure what the active ingredient is yet, but it is supposed to remove DHT specifically from the scalp. It is over the counter so it can’t be too strong; have any of you ever heard of it?
