Permanent hair removal in the genital region?

Hello all,

For a while I have been wanting to have the hair on my shaft and scrotum permanently removed. Shaving is a hassle and I always get ingrown hairs/razor bumps/irritated skin. I know very little of hair removal techniques, especially on what could be used successfully on the genital region. Are there any members here that have undergone permanent hair removal for the genitals? I would appreciate any suggestions/advice.

Edit: I should note that plucking seems to have bad results, as my hairs don’t like to regrow normally and seem to tuck under the skin. And yes, I’m using the search function!

Doing a little more reading. I am a Type IV on the Fitzpatrick scale (light tan).

If shaving is a problem, close trimming may be an acceptable alternative. It’s not permanent, but it does get around the problem of ingrown hairs/razor bumps.

Second trimming as an alternative. There are some great body shavers out there that make it as easy as shaving your head.

I started a thread in another forum asking if anyone had ever gotten a manzilian (ass, crack and sack wax). Didn’t get a great response.

Regardless, I know waxing is not permanent. Not sure if laser hair removal is safe on a man’s genitals and even if it were, not sure if you could find a place that would do it.

I shave my whole area around the penis, including the scrotum with a wet razor, which is called intuition of Wilkinson. The interchangeable blades used are already surrounded by a lubricating gel which dissolves in the shower in foam. This type of wet razor I use now for many years, every 2 days with no problems. As a habitual Masturbator, find it to be simply shaved exciting.

I think the best resource on the web for this subject is xxx.hairtell.com. It is a forum, not unlike Thunder’s Place, where you can read up on all of the hair removal techniques out there. What I learned is that laser hair removal doesn’t work very well on light colored hair, and professional electrolysis treatments can be expensive.

So I tried something else based on the advice at the hairtell forum. I bought a cheap home electrolysis device called “one touch” ($20), some electrolyte gel, a good pair of tweezers, and a bright lamp. It was slow going, and I had to replace the “one touch” a couple of times when wires broke. But after about a year, the area was very clear of hair and I could put the equipment and my razor away.

I spent over 3K on laser treatments with lackluster results. I’ll remember that.

I bought a home laser machine from costco. Do the treatment every two weeks and i have done i think 5 treatments. Seeing major results i think maybe 3 or 4 more treatments and i wont have to shave again.

Home electrolysis device, that sounds promising. At least a couple inches of shaft hair here. Doesn’t hurt anything I guess but annoying

I do pluck if i get too annoyed, but get lazy.
