Switching up the Newbie Routine to prioritize length

On the information post detailing the newbie routine, it recommends starting the following:

  • 5 minutes of manual stretching
  • 10 minutes of jelqing

At the moment, I have kept to this, performing ten 30-second stretches. My jelqing is usually done dry with a C-Grip.
Currently, my BPEL is 5 inches and my EG is 4.6. I would like to work more on my length before I work on my girth.

That is why I want to know, is it ok to switch to 10 minutes of manual stretching with only 5 minutes of jelqing?

Basically, I just want to know that if I would like to work on length extensively, if I should switch the timings done on each exercise.

You can switch it, if you like. But you run EQ loss risks associated with higher stretching and lower jelqing. Additionally, the jelq is a fine length exercise that many have used to gain long-term.

But it shouldn’t cause you an injury as long as you aren’t gripping too hard or pulling so hard you damage the glans. And it would in theory work as you expect. But I can’t say for sure. Take it cautious.

If I may extend upon my concern, would I be overworking as a newbie if I kept both jelqing and stretching at the same time length? It would potentially maintain EQ, but may make me slow gains faster?

You can increase the time you’re stretching, just make sure you keep jelquing too or you’ll experience lower EQ. If your EQ drops, and it bothers you (doesn’t bother me) just lighten stretched for a couple days and jelq more till EQ returns then rinse and repeat.

Fatigue can slow gains. I would stop trying to modify the routine until I got some practical experience under my belt. Heavily modified routines are hard to offer advice on and easy to get stuck it hurt doing.

In my view, jelqing is a “general” and basic exercise working on girth AND length. Stretching is more length-specific, but still gives (at leat to me) a little girth too, mostly at the base.

Therefore, I include in every routine I do jelqing and stretching. And I always do more jelqing than stretching as I consider jelqing the very “general purpose” PE exercise. But that’s my conviction, no proof available.

So I would rather propose you first ramp up jelqing and then stretching (in alternance, not at the same time). Do it in 4-week steps until your dick tells you it’s enough and the step back to the routine of the previous month.
