"Beginner" length gains on restarting PE after a 10-year break

Hi all. Some of you old-timers may remember me from waaaay back, but I’ve recently started experimenting with a very simple, manual-only routine after taking a break from PE for around a decade, after noticing that I’d lost most of my length gains (although, I’m pleased to say, I’ve held onto 70-75% of my girth gains).

My routine is absurdly simple: a one-minute warmup, either directly under the shower or with a flannel soaked in warm water, then circular manual stretches, taking four seconds to make a complete circle, for four minutes. I do this once a day, or occasionally twice, five days a week.

I began back in mid November, so about ten weeks ago, and have already seen some 11 mm of length gain, which I think is pretty good for such a minimal routine.

My questions for the true veterans are: am I just very lucky, or is it normal for newbie-like gains to be seen in someone restarting PE after a long break? And realistically, how long will gains this easy continue? I’m hoping to make another 15 mm or so, or just over half an inch.

Probably similar to bodybuilders “muscle memory”.

I thought that was to do with making certain movements that have become second nature?

I just posted a similar thing. I got back into PE after a 6 year break, I lost most of my length gains over the hiatus, but they all came back within about 3 months (November - January).

I gained roughly 1.5 inches in 3 months, but now I have hit a plateau again, the same plateau as back when I was actively PEing

No, it’s their muscles ability to regain lost mass and strength quicker than someone who has never exercised.

1.5 inches in 3 months is nuts! That’s some impressive gains there.

Does “cementing” really work, do you think, or is that more wishful thinking than anything?

I’ve looked it up and it turns out there are two different meanings to the phrase, so we were both right.

But in this context, I’m not talking about my body “remembering” that I’ve done PE years ago. It’s actually the reverse, namely that I’m making gains as if I were a total newbie.

Well for me it didn’t work. I lost pretty much all length gains. I also did specifically only length exercises, and was cutting back on jelqs/clamp/pumping until I eventually quit cold turkey. It could be that I just didn’t cement my gains at all. But either way, they came back really fast so I’m not upset.

I restarted last year after a 15 year break (didn’t lose my old gains during the break though). Since restarting in August I’ve regained 1cm quite easily but since then gains have slowed/halted

My progress Start: c. 5" NBP x 5.5 MEG

Aug 21: 5.9" NBP x 5.7 MEG

Nov 21: 6.5” NBP GOAL: 7" NBP

I guess this will happen to me too, so I’m just going to make gains while the sun shines, then drop down to maybe one stretching session a week, see if I can retain the gains this time.

Now I’m back into the ‘zone’ of PE, I’ve ramped up to stretching twice a day, and have seen my gain rate more or less double to 2mm per week!

This whole thing makes me worried though. I am just starting and this is one of my fears: to have to do this for the rest of my life.

Is there any proof from anyone that cementing works?

It probably varies from guy to guy. Some might be lucky and retain all (or nearly all) their gains if they simply stop PEing, while others might eventually be back where they started.

As I think I said in the first post, I lost most of my length gains but kept most of my girth gains, which TBH I’m not too bothered about.

As to whether cementing is really a thing, I just don’t know. Kind of thing you’d need to conduct a large-scale survey to get any kind of firm answer on, I think.

Also cementing or not after a decade and gains come back so quickly is great. A little bit of maintenance is no bother to hold on to big gains. I’m also someone who’s been on off PE for many years and I’ve noticed quickly being able to get right back to where I’ve left off.

*** UPDATED (7/31/2022) BP 7.5x5.8 ***

Just in case any of you were wondering how I was getting on, I fairly quickly hit a plateau in length gains, so I switched to a girth routine back in the spring, and in a few months had regained the girth gains I’d lost from not doing PE for years, which was something like 8 mm.

So that’s me done for now, I think. Final stats are 225 mm BPEL by 160 mm MSEG, or 8.9” by 6.3”.
