I hang in upward angles so it’s easy for me to wrap a heating pad around the shaft for heat and a bag of frozen peas for the cool down. It’s hard to say though whether or not it’s helped with gains as I’ve seen results with or without heat or a cool down.
I tend to be very consistent with my routine, several daily sets and few days off. I imagine that the cool down may be more beneficial in a lighter, more inconsistent routine where the tissues have more time to heal. Who knows?
I enjoy the therapeutic effects of the cool down though. It really does feel good at the end of my hanging session. I’ll sometimes leave it on for a while after I’ve removed the hanger.
