Cool Down - YES You NEED It!

Personally, I wouldn’t worry about using an ice pack if cooling down with a stretcher (I don’t use a stretcher, I just use my hand). Just keep a very low level of pull while returning to room temperature. If you feel you have over-trained in that session, use the ice pack (over a t towel or similar) for 2-4 minutes max, let it warm up to room temperature, then ice again for another couple of minutes. You only need a level of traction that takes your penis to full length, not that applies any actual ‘pull’ while cooling down with ice.

Whichever method you use, remember that it’s cooling down, not active PE.

My routine uses common methods of ADS, jelqing, and manual stretches throughout the day. For example, one day I may wear and extender; the next day stretch down my right leg and left leg and/or around my waist with the VacHanger; and the next day wear two golf weights. Each of these methods I stretch throughout the day for a minimum of 6-8 hours.

I am aware I should do a warm-up and I usually count that as my shower while I do some jelqing. Should I also apply some heat to my penis while ADSing in the beginning of the day? Also, before I end the day, should I apply some heat while ADSing, then cool down without my ADS on?

Thanx firegoat, if I feel overtrained wut if I got a full erection once leaving the shower and put the ice pack on a full erect and just kept that for a few moments?

I think my question is, would a full erection count as slightly extended?

I doubt you would easily keep a full erection with an ice pack on it. Better to just manually hold it at length.

For the first 3 months of PE I was using the Newbie Routine, which includes a warm wrap before and after the PE session. I have had good gains, however I had to go to a 1 day on, 1 day off routine because I was not getting enough rest between sessions.

After reading this thread(very informative, by the way-props to all who have posted) I decided to give it a shot a “cooling down” instead of warming after a session to see if this would help my recovery time. I used a cool washcloth for 1 minute while I manually held in an extended state. Throughout the day I felt as if my flaccid was smaller than normal.

Today(rest day) my flaccid seemed even smaller! I do not know if this has anything to do with my “cooling down” instead of my usual warming, but needless to say that after 3 months of steady gains a sudden decrease, even if only in my flaccid, is quite alarming!

Has anyone else here had a similar experience? Thanks in advance-any help is greatly appreciated.

It has nothing to do with the cooling down I think, 2005; likely it is linked to other factors. Since we are on the subject, I’d like to add that my experience has been: the flaccid length increase on the initial gaining phase; once gains are cemented, FL tends to return to it’s original measure.

Today instead of using heating or cooling aids after my session I simply manually held extended for 5 minutes as a “cool down.” What do you think about this method? I guess I will just keep trying different methods and see what works best.

I think it’s good. My preferred method is to held the penis stretched for about 1-2 minutes and to sprinkle fresh water.

I always thought that you warm up before your PE Routine and then wen you done you “warm up” again. Was I mistaken? Should I ice after I’m done with my routine?

I cool down with a cool (not cold) rag and message the penis and let it rest for about 5 minutes. Is this as good of a cool down as using warm heat? Thanks.

What about using both ideas together? I don’t see how they are conflicting. After session, allow to cool to room temperature over a few minutes while extended and then add cold wash cloth while extended then one or two minutes of ice(perhaps every second workout) while extended also.

I’ve read this post with great interest and was wondering why the PEGym site says:

4. Should I do a post warm-up after I complete my workout?

Some penile exercisers suggest yes, whereas others suggest no. We recommend not warming up (I.e. Warming down) after your workout.

Is this to imply “cooling down” since it doesn’t say this either?

Yes, whether you cool naturally or apply a cooling mechanism, the point is to cool in a stretched state and not to reapply heat.
