Are conversion collars ok to use Also, what if the cylinder is too 'small'

Sorry it’s me again with yet another pumping question (or two!)

Many of the pumping kits come with a 2" cylinder - I haven’t measured yet, but what if your ideal size is 1.75" (according to the sticky thread in the pumping forum), is it ok to use a conversion collar that brings the size back down? (Like this one: http://www.peni senlarging.co.u … &CATID=93&USER= )

And what if the 2" cylinder is too small? Say my base girth is 7 and the recommended size is 2.50 but I use the 2" that comes with the kit - will that help me get longer as opposed to thicker? Will it feel uncomfortable?

I have a curious mind hence all these questions lol.

Anyone?

Dude. It is difficult to answer theoretical questions. Also rather timewasting for mods.

The best thing is to tell us your measurements. Then we can make a reasonable guess as to what you require

So get measuring, then tell us what you want to aim for, and we then can give you - in our opinion- the best sizes to go for

In any case you really need to measure now before you start so that you know what gains you make

By the look of it, the conversion collar fits at the base of the tube. So it is more likely a toolk to prevent your balls being drawn into the tube. That’s only my opinion though.

Psst! The link is at the bottom of the page :bigwink:

It doesn’t really make any difference does it? (And someone else could be wondering the same?) Nowt wrong with being curious - the more you know the better you are informed and more knowledgeable about the topic in general :)

Maybe I should have just put my questions a little better..

- Is it ok to use conversation collars?

- Why shouldn’t you use a cylinder that is bigger than the recommended size for you?

- Why shouldn’t you use a cylinder that is smaller than the recommended size for you?

I’m interested in this too! What will or what can happen? Is is dangerous, will the gains be bad if it’s not a correct cylinder size etc.

UKDude— no there’s nothing wrong in knowledge for knowledge’s sake— so if you really do care then you should do the actual research and not simply ask someone else to do it for you.
Tit told you that you were eating up mod time with theoretical queries.

Now define too big or too small.

IMHO there’s nothing wrong with using a larger tube as long as you can maintain a vacuum seal— the whole point is expansion.

Too small is a problem if you can’t get full expansion— so why would you bother?

And if you need to use a collar then use the collar.

Several pump companies offer a sizing chart and measuring instructions (Do Not Cheat, guys; your goal is not to impress the pump manufacturer; they don’t care.)

Vacuum pumping 101 Thread, but still I’m interested in a advance explanation on this.

If you go to the pumpers forum, you will gain some insight as to which members you can get the greatest knowledge base from.

Vacuum Pumping 101 <——invaluable starting point!

Sometimes it is not as important to know the detailed answer , but where to find it!

I did do a search, and I looked at the cylinder sticky. But the information was insufficient (it just says that a cylinder too big will suck up your balls too - but I wanted to know if there were any actual negatives to PE). There are probably threads that discuss cylinders which are too small but I didn’t find any via the search (the search system in vbulletin isn’t great actually - that’s pretty well known) and I only found one of them by chance and that was -after- posting this thread.

I didn’t mean in general Richard.. I meant in regards to the cylinder size.

Well, I just started pumping, but have been studying much.

The conversion collars are to a degree, from what I gather, going to simulate a “cock ring effect, depending on size and what not. They appear to be viewed as, perhaps a more economical solution to having a cylinder collection.

The wider cylinder, say a 2” for a 5.25” girth should, in theory, allow for more girth expansion and less glans oriented vacuum.

Using a tube that you fill out in girth will therefor cause greater vacuum for means of length, but you have to pay attention to how much is being exerted on the glans to avoid blisters and other such nastys.

I started with a 2” Jim Diamond. I am ordering a 1.75” JD today and if I like pumping as a whole, then I will order a wide mouth oval cylinder and probably buy one for Sta-Kool for his birthday as he has been great help in my pumping journey and very supportive! I think that the idea of buying a 1.75”, working into packing it and then moving up to the 2” is a great idea. Growth in stages mate!

Thanks Richard. It seems you are well on your way to becoming a ‘pumper’ lol.

I am still a little undecided - I’m not keen on shaving as when I’ve tried that in the past I’ve found it gets ‘itchy’, could get the tweezers out though LOL

I was going to get the kit which only comes with a 2” cylinder hence wondered what may be the negatives if it is too small or big for me, and whether a converter would be more than acceptable. (Just out of curiosity if nothing else)

I’m just under 7” long (from bone) so was interested in more girth than anything else.

Good luck!

If I were you and going for girth, I would buy a Jim Diamond cylinder sized based on Advocet8”s advice. I am 5.25” and am recommended the ideal 1.75” tube. I took the advice of the thread and went with 2” to work on girth. The JD is 2” x 9 inches long, so I feel like I’m getting an all around expansion rather than packing and just getting a length or Head expansion. Damn dude, are you 7” base girth?

You don’t have to shave if you don’t want to. I just trim a little bit, like I would anyway. Petifaun has the secret for getting a good seal here:

petitfaun - Newbie can’t get a perfect seal — is continually pumping the pump ok?

(I usually wipe the lubricant tround the edges with my finger, then just dip the base of the tube in water. Then place it firmly against the ‘fatpad’ and twist it a half turn left and right. Hold it against the pad and pump.)

Ah, 9_in_richard, you don’t have to buy me anything — happy to help.
