The mountain top view?
It isn’t often that I put two different entries in for the day reflecting but today, a purchase was a bit epic. At least to me. It signified something important and I will provide some background so that the value is somewhat also evident to the reader. But today, I bought an honest to goodness full package pumping cylinder. A 9.5 inch Bull Master Magnum from PumpToys. This is a compliment to my 65x35mm magnetic ball weight. Which are the biggest in the size classes of the items that you can select.
For me, that was an incredible accomplishment. Because, when I started PE…my size was actually below what the items needed as a minimum to attach or work. Really, one of the reasons I extended first was it was the first device that I got to work. Clamps were too big and hurt too much. There was space on the sides of the Wraptor when I first started using it and even with padding that couldn’t be obviated. Then, no pump fit. I bought at least a half dozen and all were too wide. Some comically so. Looking back I needed a 1.5” diameter or not quite a 1.75” cylinder to start and my fear of investing in a nice cylinder was only compounded when I ended up with a 2.5” and a 2.25” diameter cylinder and 3 cylinders later…a 2” that also was too big. Then, lets not forget the Goliath I bought right when Bathmate got hot and hurt my feelings and begged an ebay seller to return (by some miracle) and the Hercules that was still too big that I bought and kept for a while before just selling it.
I became leery of buying products that could be sized. It just seemed like a readily packaged ego shot when I’m reading about all these guys hanging 30lbs or more. Or talking about how well their Goliaths were working. PE Gym had a really busy equipment trade thread that really was good for getting a newbie down. So I was always trying items that were one-size-fit all. And It wasn’t until probably 5 years into my career that I gave pumping a good try again with the Penomet (which came only one size) and then got back with my DP4000 with a 2.25” that fit half of my cock (because of my malformed CC it wouldn’t expand further, which I didn’t understand and caused much confusion about sizing cylinders for me)
But tonight, Full Package Pumping cylinders…I got in but…at the top end. I spoke to Dave at Pumptoys at length, like I tend to and explained to him my goals and desires. And he said that with my size and current ball hanging that I’ll be able to get into a Bull Master Magnum and that the largest size will accomodate me nigh indefinitely even if I do reach past 10”. And…the ball pocket, that was his concern. He didn’t want it to be in the wrong place and the Magnum has a slightly earlier starting point for it. And…
So that purchase, with my super tall ball hangar…I really am at the outside of what size PE equipment is spec’d to handle. I left a post in the Vitallus Plus thread asking about the maximum size that is accommodated by the unit. They never responded. And truthfully, I can see why. Anything that would accommodate my current size would not accommodate the average size well.
Hanging, I’ve started doing double clamp and girth band warmups. Likely to move to triple girth band and clamp warmups. It just is what it is. And a lot of guys don’t have enough length to perform it that way. And…this part of my journey is slipping away from being as relatable.
I am outside of the scale. And…realizing that is a really weird thing, for someone terrorized by it for so long. But I need to touch on it here, as a part of my journey forward and upward ever still.
