How do you guys stretch without gripping too hard below the glans?

I started manual stretching everyday since the beginning of this month and lately I found some discoloration on the tip of my glans (small purple/dark spots, the overall tip looks a bit darker now). I’m 100% sure this is because of the stretching cause I feel the glans is pushed to the limit (even though I’m not squeezing it, but gripping below the rim).

Should I try doing a slower routine (I’m currently doing it everyday)? Or would it be a better idea to “pinch” the glans instead of gripping below it?

Use a square of toilet/tissue paper to help grip and avoid slip. The glans can rest in the palm of your hand to increase gripping surface area, but the grip should be below the glans on your shaft.

I was about to ask you people why isn’t it recommended to grip the glans directly? I did it in the beginning for a week or so (thinking that’s how it’s supposed to be done) and each time I felt both a huge stretch and engorgement. Truth it I struggled to keep it for 30 seconds, but on a positive note, it forced me to HOLD, not PULL (which is highly recommended).
Wouldn’t you save the glans from massive expansion/tension/bruising by doing the stretch like this? Just my newbie curiosity.

I will try to use an easier grip though (and maybe the tissue paper too).

The glans is an expansion of the corpora spongiosum and is relatively ‘weak’ tissue, compared to the shaft which is surrounded by the tough tunica (therefore much harder to injure). Stretching from the glans you usually feel a quite intense stretch in the area just below the glans (because the tissue is relatively weak), but not in the shaft so much.
Any hand slippage on the glans while holding stretches for prolonged times will tend to cause thickening of the skin over the glans. That may cause temporary reduced sensation if you are uncircumcised, but your brain will adjust to it quickly (hence circumcised men have orgasms just as intense as uncircumcised).
The big problem with hand slippage is it usually leads to the thickened skin peeling, just like sunburned skin, and that is not an attractive look on your glans! So it’s best to avoid gripping primarily on the glans, although it is ok for it to sit in the palm and take a little of the grip, although most grip must be on the shaft.

I do the newbie routine when I feel like it :D - it’s still the foundation of everything we do. Occasionally I’ll pump.

Firegoat, since you’re here, I’ll ask you what do you think about the grip types in jelqing?

After a lot of reading in here, I came to the conclusion that the “ok grip” is not the best since it’s putting too much pressure on the penis and found more and more people recommending a C-grip (also known as U-grip), targeting the sides of the penis more (which apparently is the purpose of jelqing) and putting less pressure on the dorsal vein and urethra.

Routine Critique

Howdy all,

Thank you forum veterans for sharing your knowledge and experience, I promise to use it well!

This past week I’ve restarted extending after a year long hiatus, prior to that I had put in 500 hours over the course of 8 months and gained 0.25” to reach 5.50” BPEL (I was inconsistent, the average is bad, and was still working on applying the right method so its debatable how many of those hours were good quality).

My current routine is a 5-10 min stretch under heat prior to extending in 30 min sets under constant heat with a 5-10 min break of stretching/firegoat rolls for at least 3-4 hours/day (no cool-down when finished) on a 2 on - 1 off schedule for now.

Initial: 5.50” x 4.25” (it doesn’t feel like I have a “steel” cord regarding the septum/dorsal thickening)
Gear: Leluv extender (spring style with adjustable screw base) modified with a velcro sling holder (it works well, had to drill into the composite plastic, the commercial grade velcro has held up successfully).
Heat: Beurer IL 50 Infrared Lamp
Accessories: Cut up cotton boxer (for wrapping) and boxers (I’d like to have kids one day folks) for heat shielding.
Weight: Originally ~180 lbs, I actually gained 20-30 lbs over the hiatus and am currently working it off.
Notes: 50/50 on standing vs sitting while extending (I have a standing desk), angle has been 0 (straight out) or 45 (angled down) and extension has been under BPEL to “feel” tension (no marking on the springs to indicate numerical levels unfortunately). Good PIs so far. Goal is length before girth (clamping with the principles from BG).

That being said, am I on the right track with this with routine and schedule? Maybe manual is better and hanging is inevitable? I’ve tried to do my homework reviewing posts from Titleist/Marinera/Dj8cut/Thoughtfulgold/Firegoat/Shiver/LittleEngine/BeardedDragon among others.

Has anyone gained significant length with dry jelqing? I know that some have, but i want to see how common it is.

Does it make sense to do jelqing before stretching? Would a penis stretch worse? I have problems with this because it is hard (almost impossible) to reach erection after a stretching session.

You don’t want to be erect while jelqing.

For me which came first didn’t matter. I’m sure your efforts are great. You don’t need to be erect to jelq. Stretching is near impossible while erect.
