If I recall correctly, this is correct, but the distribution generally tends to show more men being below than above the average with most clumped between 4.5 and 5. The problem is that unlike length, girth doesn’t seem to follow a gaussian distribution.

I wonder where these measurements are taken. If I measure midshaft I am 5.25” and am 5.6-5.75” at base. either way I am above average but still makes me wonder where they measured.

That’s actually a very good point, in a few of the studies I read they take the average across the whole erect penis, but this can result in odd results. I’m 6.25” at the head and 5.6” mid-section, but the mid-section is longer. I think future research in penis size is going to focus more on circumference/girth, as the length studies have been done to death.

The wikipedia description of the lifestyle study says they measured base, midshaft, and right under the glans. And took an average.

hmmmmm that would make me about 5.3”. I dont agree with this system. I would have preferred being given 3 individual measurements for each of these locations.

I do believe that the average is closer to 5 1/2” erect length. I will tell you why in a second.

This probably makes me a little of an exhibitionist, but I did something a couple of days ago, and then measured the comparison last night.

I went to the grocery and bought some Trojan Mangum XLs. I put them in my cart about midway through my shopping and then did the rest of my shopping (about 15 minutes) walking around with the XL condoms
in pretty clear sight of anyone who looked in my cart. Not on the front/top section, but not obstucted either. I had a bunch of regular groceries in there as well, so I didn’t look like some old creep. I think it probably came across as some middle-aged family man that had a nice large dick! I felt pretty good walking around like that hoping some people might see them and wonder. Innocent enough but very fun.

What is funny is that I don’t even wear condoms anymore, and I surely wouldn’t need the Mangum XLs. I wa sjust curious about the size of them after being on this site. I am going to see how one fits one morning when I wake up with my normal morning hard-on.

Anyway, to the subject. After getting home, I measured a normal condom I still had and it measured at approximately 6”. The Mangum XL was about an inch bigger at 7”. While these measurements might be a little off and included very little to no stretching, they are somewhat accurate. I believe that if there were so many
6+ and 7 inchers around, the normal would be bigger, and the mangum xls would be closer to 8” to accomodate all the 7+ inchers.

I also visited the site where people send in their photos and it was dominated by those between 5”-6” and included quite a number under 5.25.

Yes, although the data is confounded by considerable selection and reporting bias, and is subject to interpretation, I think the bulk of the evidence suggests pretty strongly that average NBPEL is 5.5” at most, and quite possibly less.

When a number of self-reported surveys of BPEL like the PE data here at Thunder’s, the sizable length poll at Cheeky Cherry PE forum, and the very large “Definitive Penis Size Survey” are resulting in median BPELs of 6.34”, 6.1”, and 6.4”, and knowing full well that many guys fudge the numbers, round upwards, or lie outright, the true median BPEL has to be a bit less, say somewhere around 6”.

It sure as hell ain’t 7” or more.

In reality = the real world I say it does. If the “reality” you speak of are the numerous, error filled “studies” and averages, then I guess not. I choose to believe what I see in life, and not the out of date and out of touch “statistics” I read on the Internet.
