IF you think about it this way then yes it would be quite puzzling. However you have to keep in mind that generally only men with above average members are going to post pictures on this or any site. Same goes for the porn industry, only men with “big” dicks are going to get the roles because it is what people want to see. Anyway the average is still smaller then 6 inch because most studies are based off of what men say not actual measurements and we all know every man is going to add that extra inch. In studies where erections were drug induced the average was more like 5.2- 5.75 inch’s. Just my opinion though others may vary.

I agree with you. Many of us are here cuz we have been exposed to Internet images, porn and the wonderful exs-girlfriend or boyfriend’s tales. Human minds are tricky. When we want to pay attention to something, we will tend to notice more. If we are surprised by a sight of a large 8”+ penis in a locker room or on Internet, we are more likely to focus on finding the next large cocks (if the surprise is a pleasant one).

Many of us on here want a bigger cock. So it is very likely that we pay more attention to the plus sizes and discount the average or smaller than average penises.

Chances are, guys with large penises do have the tendency to show off online, in person or at urinal. After all, our society is full of references to “large penises” (in movie, on TV and even music).

I am also a victim of bias. I have seen a few extra large ones and they tend to stick in my memory.. (pleasant shock)… but if I think back, I have seen way more under 5.5” in my life than a true 7”+.

Knowing the true average size won’t change anything in our minds because we will always want more and more.

I think psychologically, for the anxious guys, knowing the true average is probably more important than gaining 1/2”. It was for me. I’m just having trouble hard-wiring/convincing myself sometimes, especially when I read a few posts questioning the ~6” x 5” average.

so in our own thunders pre-pe survey we have roughly 4.03% of the population having 7.75" or better, and in the sizesurvey, 10% of the population has 7.9" or better.

this is terrible math, but for this very casual discussion lets take the mid point between size and percentage, and we get 7.83" for 7.02% of the population.

with a global population of 6,697,254,041 as of 2008, time 52% (estimated male gender percentage of global population) we get 3,482,572,101 males. times 7.02% of that population we get 244,476,561 men with penis’ that measure 7.83" or larger. 244 million show’s there is absolutely no shortage of men with a penis roughly 8 inches or bigger, but at just 7% of the population, when comparing the estimated number to the population as a whole, they are indeed rare.
