A pic would be great, Monty. Any bubble in these sleeves is their downfall because it is essentially a thin spot surrounded by stronger thicker area which equates to a certain tear. This is what happened to me today on a brand new sleeve. That’s two in two weeks. Unacceptable.

Reading a bit further, it seems silicone integrity is improved by vacuum mixing. Vac pumps can be pricey. Anyone know a source for recycled or refurbs?

Need a 29”/Hg capable; 8 CFM unit for ideal.

Here you go. This is my setup with a couple new sleeves. There are bubbles there and it makes perfect sense that bubbles weaken the integrity for sure. But, mine last certainly longer than yours have by a long shot. It may be that you use the dickens out of them?? Someone mentioned vacuuming the bubbles. Also makes sense. One could use a straw and saran wrap or if you have a vacuum sealer with saran wrap, etc. Just throwing stuff out there.

Thanks Monty, that helps. Did you ise any kind of release agent in the pipe and bolt?

No sir. Bolt doesn’t touch material. Just PVC. Once it cures, I pull the top end cap off. Next unscrew the bolt which will free that end cap. A little bit of gentle prying is necessary to separate the two halves. Once the halves are off, all you gotta do is roll the sleeve off. And done.

Have you tried heating the silicone in a microwave before you pour it ?
Remember seeing a tv show about a factory that made sex toys, that’s what they were doing.

Sounds like warmth is the key. To make it warm and then keep it warm until its in the mold.

Makes sense as warm air is destined to rise up. When in the mold many said to slightly tap it which will also encourage air to get free and move up.

Also slow and thin pouring might help. I read about a technique called "bombs away".
One way to do it:
"The silicone is completely mixed and ready to be poured into the molds. I do not have access to a vacuum chamber to remove the air bubbles from the silicone. Instead I am using a method called “Bombs Away.” The idea is you pour the silicone in a long thin stream which pops any air bubbles on the way down. This is done by cutting a 1/2 inch hole in the bottom of a plastic cup. Place a piece of tape over the hole. Once your silicone has been mixed, you pour it into the cup. Carefully position the cup onto a counter with your mold on the floor beneath it."

You could continue to heat the mold once it’s poured with a heat gun or similar, that would help any air bubbles to rise to the top.

Say, Monty- The outer pipe is split lengthwise to aid getting the sleeve out once it is set up right? But is that necessary? Is it not possible to push the sleeve on the center tubing out from the outer pipe?

I’m certain it’s necessary. There’s some prying to get the halves apart. Can’t imagine the difficulty pushing the sleeve out like a pop-up Popsicle without some sort of release agent.

EXCITED! Finally got hold of the ecoflex 0030.
Off to the hardware store to create a mold. :D

I will do it with PVC pipes but I just realized looking at the back of the packaging that I could do a mold with the silicone itself.
But I guess the small silicone pack I bought wont be enough to make a mold and some sleeves. :(

So I finally did my first sleeve.
I used PVC with a plumber pipe inside.
3/4 inside and 1.5 outside.
I intended to make a rather thick and long sleeve so I could use it as an ADS.
The inside space of the sleeve is a bit more then 1 inch.

The ecoflex is great silicone.

But I messed up for my first try.
My mold is a bit sloppy build and I had too many air bubbles adn the sleeve got too uneven. Some airpockets were so big I had to cut them out.
I also used too much silicone in the first place so I wasted much of the batch I bought.

I can only recommend to first try it with a small piece cause no matter how much you read the pouring etc. needs some experience.

I will build a better mold and wait for my vacuum pump to arrive so I can devacuum/pull out air bubbles the silicone before pouring.

Anyway the ecoflex is great . perfect material to use. It has just enough give and stretch.

I managed to put the sleeve on in a way that it works as an ADS while having good blood circulation. It almost worked like surgical stocking if this is the right word..
The sleeve is longer then my bpel and the overlap I fold back behind the glans which prevents the glans to slip inside the sleeve. I also fold it down to the base.
Great feeling to wear and ridiculous bulge if worn in a jeans ^^.
I could clamp while in the sleeve, with a cloth over it to protext, and it expanded quiet nicely without any signs of edema.
I then just put the clamp away and I stayed nicely expanded in the sleeve.

I can see many opportunities with this with different molds and uses. Too bad the ecoflex is quiet expensive.

Attached a pic of the sleeve, the inner pipe and the outer pipe. I will assemble a new mold as I dont have ennough silicone left to make another “fail”.

Sounds great! I’ve ordered Ecoflex #30 trial kit myself now.
How do you remove the air bubbles with your pump? Did you make a make-shift cylinder or seal on the container you pour from?
I’ve also got a question for ideal size - I’m about 3,5cm in diameter flaccid - what would be the ideal measure here?
Last thing I was thinking hard about was the cap - I could just find some spray or lotion cap with about 4cm diameter and fill that in with silicone to have a concave cushion, while attaching an anchor so it can be used to pull.
Dickerschwanz, what did you use for your setup?
