Silicone Sleeves - Make your own

Im sorry Im not sure if Understand right.

Use alumisol soft plastic to create a mold in the shape of the sleeve and then pour the ecoflex inside?
And that mold would be reusable for further sleeves?

I only came about alginate which sucks.

Sorry let me explain you would use the alumisol in place of the silicone until you mastered what you were testing or trying out. I would get alumisol and some softener. With alumisol you can cast your test part and if you dont like it melt it back down and adjust. The add a little softner to the plastic stick back in microwave and it will remelt so you can cast your test part/idea again. Silicone and alginate are permanent once set. This would just save some money until you have a perfect mold. Have to remember the plastic isnt as strong as the silicone, thats the only drawback.

If i buy in amazon, ebay w/e, i need to pay a extra 60% of tax in my country (final price = ((R$3,50 x $) + 60%) + 8% credit card tax). Brazil is going to die soon if we keep this politics. That’s why i don’t buy a vac extender from usa or europe.

I will try here soon and give my feedback.

There is any other kind of silicon that i could try?

Thanks toyota, understand now. Im actually thinking about creating a cast that I can use repeteadly to create sleeves without much hassele.

Pumpbra,
The eco30 is good to the skin and has the right density. Most are too hard. Still possible but needs more skills( additonal stuff).

Sounds like a flight to the US to create a sleeve there is cheaper then DIY in brazil. ^^
1 kg can last you quiet some time for the sleeves if done right.

Ty! I got it, in 15 days it’s here.
It’s crazy, but travel to US is more cheap than buy something. Sad.

Pumpbra, I reckon you have a pump with a gauge. This will enable you to degass the silicone to avoid bubbles.
I advise you to be really sure about your setup and how you will do it and then make a trial run.
If you do it right 1kg will give you sleeves for some time.
I wasted maybe half of my silicone unnecessary :(

This is a great thread with good info to read ;)

Yes i’m reading everything again.

But if i use my gauge, it will “suck” silicon too, no?
I only have the vacutech pistol now.

I was thinking about to use 2 pump cilinders to do my sleeves and search for something that don’t let it glue to the cilinder.

Yeah you need the cylinder too.

I used a bottle that fit right into the cylinder and secured it with airtight tape around. Then pumped.
The silicone will stay in the bottle and the air will be sucked out.

It worked very good for me but I took too much time and half of the silcone was already sticky/hard when i began pouring it into the mold.
Still you have about 30 minutes to mix it etc until you need to pour it into the mold.

Silicone Sleeves on eBay

I finally gave up on making my own. I tried to make my own several times, but with the bubbles that remained after the sleeve cured, I was left with sleeves that were not airtight. I found a guy on eBay that has been offer the sleeves for years and have now bought several from him. I’m very happy with the quality. While not a cheap as making them myself, you get what you pay for. The link for the sleeves:

Worked good. Could see the bubbles rising.
Also pour the silicone in a thin stream into the form. This helps avoiding new bubbles.

I recommend to first dry run such a setting to check if its sealed enough.

Ideal size: I did choose half the diameter of my erect girth. I did 3 versions with slightly bigger and smaller diameters.
All are Ok and I recomemnd to have several diameters as they could be usefull for different situations.

Obviously you want a diameter that at least slightly grips while flaccid.
There are many possiblities cause its not only abouut the inenr diameter but also about the wall thickness of the sleeve.

My thinnest wall size is about 0.2 cm which is fairly loose with the ecoflex 30. I think 0.5 is probably the best for an ADS option.

CAP:
I don’t use one.

Thanks Tanner. I bookmarked it. Any clue on the durability of these versus the others you can purchase or the homemades? I was under the impression that one of the strengths of the homemades was their durability.

Homemade Weighted Silicone Sleeve for ADS

I’ve been reading through all of the posts and have decided I would like to try to make my own ADS silicone sleeve. After reading so many posts in different threads about only using 1-2 lbs (like Bib) I’ve come up with a design that seems like it may work.
Before I spend $50+ dollars I thought I would see if anyone has tried this before.

Standard PVC mold using 3/4” (O.D.~1”) tubing for inside and 2” (I.D. ~2”) tubing for the outside.
~72 1/2” steel ball bearings inserted into the mold before pouring the silicone.
The final product if 4” long would weigh 1.3lbs and be extremely comfortable for an extended wear device.
If extended to 5” long it would require 90 bearings and weigh 1.7lbs

Thoughts? Criticisms?

tungsten shot, or lead would be better than bearings, although maybe your math is off.

Good idea but it needs to be flexible to put it on which is mostly done by rolling it down the length. So the silicone cant be too thick nor inflexible.
So I assume the weights need to be placed in a specific configuration(geometricly). Also you surely need to degass the silicone to avoid any airpockets which in combo with weights would rip the silicone.

Probably would make more sense to add something over an applied sleeve.

Swordsman, I’d rather avoid unsafe metals. As long as the mass of stainless steel is 0.29 lbs/in^3 then my math is solid. I didn’t annotate my spreadsheet well but I believe it to be accurate except I didn’t allow for the interlocking distance of each ring of bearings.

Dicker, I would degass using the thin stream pour method coupled with vacuum and possible vibration. It would be thick but I would make it large enough to still be able to slide in and out of instead of roll. If necessary, I could use a wrap of some kind under the glans to help keep it on.
