Hanging with FIRe

A while back I mentioned heat shielding on my pad.

Here’s a pic of my pad with the heat shielding on.
Here’s a link to the small 12x12 heat shield that I use: https://www.ama … /dp/B00029KC2A/ Cut to fit.

Keep in mind, I only did one test each, and I could have a defective thermedic pad. If anyone else wants to test their own pads, the thermocouple thermometer was only like $30. It’s uncomfortable, but I think it’s worth the sacrifice to make sure you’re putting the best work in possible. Another thing I want to point out is this quote from longerstretch’s post (linked on 5.5’s original post). Basically saying that even heat below 40C is beneficial.

My free time is going to be unpredictable for a month or two so I won’t be starting the routine for a while. Will be following other guys, and I’ll start my own log once I begin. Good luck fellas.

Very interesting. So would that mean that the Near Infrared capabilities of the TotalMan gets the job done without needing to be Far Infrared?

I have both and will use both maybe even at the same time. I’m assuming we can plug the TotalMan into the wall adapter that came with the TherMedic safely.

I only did a very brief feeling test with the TherMedic one but it seemed to heat up very fast compared to the TotalMan. Would using both be overkill?

Edit: both at the same time I mean.

At least with the two particular units I have. I may also add the heat shielding like 5.5 suggested.

What WantMore12 says is interesting. There is a difference in the two 3x6’s he has (which is also what I have), so might be a quality control issue.

I don’t know about using both at the same time. For me, it seemed to be better with less aggressive heat on the skin. It might be that my hot skin is what sent the signal to my body to start cooling down. I’d guess our bodies aren’t used to heating from the inside, so that might go undetected.

Thanks for this info, 5.5! Very helpful!

you guys make great progress with the FIR pads, very interesting to see!

I will definitely continue with ultrasound until I have reached my minimal goal.

But maybe after that I will switch to the FIR pads with heat shielding for cruising and just

trying to get another 2cm out with a bit less effort/a more passive approach.

Or I will use the FIR pads to maintain my gains some day in the future, who knows.

[before PE] Start BPFSL: 17.6cm (6.93 inches) start BPEL: 16.7cm (6.57 inches)

[currently decon until aug 2024] latest BFPSL: 21.2cm (8.35 inches) latest BPEL: 19.5cm (7,68 inches) latest NBPEL: 17cm (6.69 inches)

Click here to see my amazing US progress report (always updated!Kyrpa's methodology) ;-)

The passive nature is a big bonus of infra red pads. I am working from home and get my daily hanging set in while in meetings. Only having to adjust the weight occasionally.

I did a test of both my TotalMan and TherMedic today. Not a proper test by using it but simply by turning them on and testing the heat with a digital cooking thermometer. So this test is not nearly as scientific or useful as some of the other tests people have ran.

The TherMedic failed to reach the Level 3 temperature of 118 F. It struggled to get to more than 112 F and may have peaked at 113 F. The level 1 temperature is supposed to be 108 F and level is supposed to be 113 F. So there may indeed by a quality control issue with TherMedic.

The TotalMan on the other hand easily reached and surpassed 118 F on the Blue Light setting/Level 2. On Blue Light setting it reached up to 130 F. It easily went up to 140 F or more on the Red Light setting/Level 3.

I know a higher temperature isn’t exactly what we’re looking for. It’s more about the depth in which the heat can reach and keep that depth at that temperarure we want but I feel like it would better to go with the TotalMan in my case. I’ll try and do another test with the TherMedic in the future but I was a bit disappointed by it based on this test.

Anyone know where to get the total man heating pad directly(as I guess is a chinese one that he buys stock, as his vacuum hangers), it should be much cheaper

is the heating pad you posted really FIR? can you notice it heats at depth?

Quick update. I did another quick test with the TherMedic where I crumpled or rather folded it up onto itself with the thermometer in it and it reached and surpassed 118 F. I’m not sure what to think. I may literally choose to use both when I start my first cycle.

The TotalMan seems to hold heat better and has the velcro strap but the TherMedic has the Far InfraRed depth we want.

I used an infra red heat gun to measure internal temperature and can confirm the pad heated my dick to 42 degrees, it fluctuated slightly below and slightly above. Not sure if it is really FIR but it works for me. On BPEL I gained 0.9cm in my first cycle, 1.1cm in my second cycle and I am in the middle of my third cycle and I have gained 0.5cm so far.

I found the pad I got from Amazon to heat better than the totalman pad when measured with the temperature gun. It heated about 0.5 degrees warmer.

Your gains are right where mine wrapped up ~.3” per cycle. Keep grinding.

Yeah going good at the minute, thanks.

The temperatures you reach are so high that I am intrigued. Could you shed a bit more light on your complete setup? How exactly would you fixate it on your dick, is that easy to do and will it stay in place?
What settings do you use, the highest simply or something else ?
And how long does the pad take to heat up to 42C?
The pad is only about 33€ so I am really enticed to give it a try.

Those guns only measure surface temperature. That said, thats great progress man! Are you doing any girth work to translate BPFSL to BPEL? I think kypra does, but I don’t think 5.5 did. I’m on the fence in that part.
