Hanging 101

Why so low weight, I’m at 2,3kg now and do 4+h a day. Many grow with 2+h a day but they usually do manual too and I do those very little.

Thanks for the response about the weight. I do 0.5kg as a AllDayHanger type of exercise, but i gradually add weights on a hanging day till i reach 3kg usually and on some days i do 3,5kg. My hanging routine is riding the fatigue right now and after i do 1-2hours of hanging going from 0,5 - 1 - 1,5 - 2 - 2,5 - 3 - 3,5kg i then reduce weights till i get back to 0.5 in like 20-30 min then keep the 0,5kg for another 20minutes minimum depending on the time i have.

I also do manual stretching, especially outwards and upwards. Do you think i should stop? I read that when hanging you should not be stretching the tunica..I find manual stretching outwards very important for me as i feel it gives me bpel gains better combined with the hanging

I don’t think you should stop the manual stretching, I’ll increase them myself. Today I’m increasing weight cause yesterday I did over 7h of hanging at 2,3kg and didn’t even feel it.

Had first blister yesterday, popped it with sterilized needle, no pain. I improved the wrap a bit, added few more layers of plastic shopping bag, just hung 2h no prob.

Since I started Hanging, just on my 3rd week, I have been using a Rice Sock nuked in the microwave before and after my 20 min hang, it works excellent in holding heat.. Is a 10 min warm up/warm down good enough or should I be using a longer duration.. Just curious what everyone else does.

Be sure to not remove the dead skin right away. Put some antibiotic ointment on the area and cover it with a bandaid to keep it from rubbing against your underwear and getting aggravated. Don’t hang until the blister area completely heals. When the dead skin starts who dry, you can start to clip it away with a pair of small cosmetic scissors or fingernail clippers. When you do resume your hang routine, start back at 50% of the weight and time you were using prior to the blister. You must recondition that new virgin skin! Otherwise you will just give yourself another blister. Adding more layers of wrap will NOT prevent a blister.

What are your opinions on hanging and extending as a routine? Is it counterproductive?

I ve read in this thread that you should FIRST stretch your ligs, then move on to the tunica, but i’m guessing that the tunica is stretched as well as the ligs when hanging, right? Really need your advice you guys, thank you in advance!

I was planning on hanging this year and maybe reach a max of 4kg, decon 1-2 weeks december, and start extending in january with a pro extender bought from the internet…What do you guys think? Is extending going to help after hanging, is 1 week too short for a deconditioning break?

I m really looking forward to extending as i want to correct my downward curve, i heard extending is the best for this purpose, way better than hanging. But there are guys on the internet i ve seen that gained 1inch + in length during 1 year of extending and didn t improve their curvature..maybe they didn t bother? I can t say

Extender can not compare with hanging from all I read and tried and if you hang well I don’t think you need one. Also the famous “heal in extended state” advice is utter and complete nonsense. Some guys around here did few min of manual stretches and grew an inch in few months, it’s just not true.

Some guys make great gains with an extender like Spartacus100 - 1 5/8 in 3 months with max tension (around 3kg) and constant heat, but most don’t come close to that. They probably use too little tension, no heat and not enough or too many hours.

I actually think heal in extended state is the most important thing. However I can see how lazyness make your assumption appealing, however I think its wrong.

It has nothing to do with laziness, the vacuum cup I use for hanging is from belt-ADS and I use it like that occasionally, but that force is so low compared to hanging it is insignificant. If you use ADS like phallosan that can provide 3kg of force THEN it will affect gains, however, just wearing a silicon sleeve or low force ADS will do nothing for you except calm your mind.

Like I said before, if there was ANY truth to that nonsense promoted by DLD, no one would make significant gains without staying “extended” most of the time, just the opposite is the case. Some grew inches even with few min of manual stretching a day.

This is confirmed by most experienced users from the very beginning of this forum. After some time hanging your hang will improve anyway and you will turtle less and less.

I also find healing while extended is the best. Gains could come without that, but definitely not the gains that could come with wearing ADS or any other thing. Also, look at all the clamp/girth routines, after some time of doing those most of the guys here start wearing ADC as in all day clampers, to heal in that expanded state, some say they wear those for 2 hours even and it sounds way more intense then keeping it extended.

I got to 3kg today, hung about 4h 45min, I must say micro pore tape + better wrap does prevent blisters.
