After yesterdays session which was complicated with the sensitivity from trying out the pump, there was bruising at the glans attachment. Given that I wasn’t even sure we would be able to go today but things healed well enough and from the onset the attachment was robust and the tension light.

And so we were able to increase the tension today with relative ease. So 6 more tension increases and need to consolidate this one so looking like 14 weeks to go.

I am very curious now about the increased sensitivity from just 5 minutes in the pump at 4hg. Wondering what the physiological effects are. Also wondering about protocols. I’ve read recent clinical literature that 2 daily sessions of 10 minutes yielded excellent results and the sample was pretty good.

But anecdotally I’ve also read that 4X20 minute sessions/week at 5hg for 18 months produced profound effects.

I’ll need to do some reading.

For some reason the heat tolerance was better today, was able to tolerate high heat all the way. No problems with the 66% tension level so on track!!! When I removed the pad the whole shaft felt warm to the touch. Gonna stick with the Thermedic the rest of the way. Tension buildup was not as pronounced during the cooldown. Glans condition good at the end we seem to be past the pump induced complication from a few sessions ago.

I’m going to restrain from the pump, but I have to say it is a very intriguing piece of equipment, I can see why people gravitate towards it.

One other thing, I checked and the TotalMan heat pad does reach around the 2” cylinder. I’m not sure how much larger a cylinder it would work on without something to hold it in place.

Was able to tolerate high heat all the way. No problems with the 66% tension level and usually the second day after a day off is the most challenging. Tension buildup was more pronounced during the cooldown peaking at ~ 59 minutes. Glans condition good at the end.

One thing I’ve added and I stole it from a pumping thread, I’ve found that massaging the tissues at the attachment and where there is blanching of the glans tissues seems to help quickly resolve the residual impact of the stress of the attachment. Literally just a minute or 2 dissipates the localized inflammation and the tenderness.

Okay so today went much better, back on track. Still shooting for a tension increase next week Thursday but only if it is forthcoming. I do wonder if as we get closer to the end of the campaign if tension increases will require more time at each setting.

Temperature tolerance was reduced today so had to modulate the temperature.

Really have it in mind to be disciplined for the next 10 weeks in all things, to go into the Summer in top form.

Glans condition at end was excellent. Removal of attachment at end was a little painful, may have been overzealous in securing the noose given yesterdays failure.

I am curious about the concept that the septum is the limiting factor and that once there is accommodation there that work needs to shift to expansion of the Tunica to close the gap. Is that just a pumping/clamping effort and how does that figure into the deload - remodeling period?

Here just a random. Yesterday since the session was abbreviated I experimented with the bodyglide silicone lube in the pump and that seems to be a good solution for dealing with the curve glans contact. It’s just too expensive. So I picked up some astroglide silicone based locally. Haven’t tried that yet BUT it is much more cost effective.

I found cleanup of the tube to be very easy and quick using a hand towel.

Still not sure about the 2” tube, might be a little too tight at the base. I have sourced a 2-1/8” but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Really trying not to get distracted from the current campaign.

Everything went great today. Pretty optimistic about next Thursday for the next tension increase. The extender kept falling on it’s own to the down position during the tension increases, which suggests that the pre has increased. Heat tolerance was improved so high the whole session, till the cool down. Glans condition good at the end, good forward position of the glans in the cradle at the end and perceived tension felt reduced at the end of the session. All good!!!

Okay so may have pushed the tension increase a little too soon but it was there. It was only the last 2 minutes of the cooldown that I was worried about slippage that I decided to end the session. We’ll see in a couple days if we’ll stay with the 72%. Glans condition at end is great so I think it’s going to be fine. Heat tolerance was not as good but we made it the whole way on high heat with the Thermedic pad. Extender was once again falling to the down position on it’s own during the early tension increases.

I’m curious now about what is the accepted protocol for the deload period after Ultrasound or IR heat?

Tested Astroglide X silicone liquid. ~$13 for 5 ounces, locally sourced. Works great, will last a long time, clean up is not bad at all. Not that I have a lot of experience to speak to it but for the VED in dealing with the tight base and glans contact issue, it works great! IMO

Okay another session at 72% and it went a little better, no concern about slippage during the cooldown. Good forward position in the cradle at the end and tension felt lighter at the conclusion of this session. Typically tomorrow will be the toughest session so we’ll see. So far so good.

This takes discipline for sure. All this for an additional 1/4” and when in fact there is no certainty about the outcome.

7 minutes VED @ 4hg

This is typically this is the tough day of a tension increase and today was no exception. I’ve learned that if the tissues are not happy end the session early preserve the tissues and bring the fight another day.

On the abbreviated days I’ve been adding the VED just to sort things out although I’m finding it pretty straight forward. Thinking could use a little more lube at the base, seems like it’s hanging up there a little. Really love the precision of the gauge.

I think only the 4th session and it seems like there is progress with each session. Although not sure how to categorize it or what that means. I really can’t see increasing the pressure much from here.

Only going to introduce the pump sporadically as to not interfere with the current campaign.
