Hi Firegoat,
Much appreciate you contributing this list of questions, it really helps to organize a description of one’s condition. Thank you.
Here below are my answers. I’m appealing to the collective wisdom on this site to make suggestions as to ways to proceed with (in short) a condition of penis insensitivity, fully described below.
Thanks again.

Before going into symptoms, I will explain what I’ve done and how:
- Newbie technique: Started w/low repetitions (50-70/session); after 6 weeks I had increased to 100reps/session; 2 days on,1 day off, at 60-80%erection. At first ( 2-3 weeks) used palm facing up technique, then changed to palm facing down, which felt more effective. I lifted the hand slightly during the jelq, so not to touch the nerve running lengthwise on top, and would squeeze along the jelq stroke up to about 1/2” from glans. In this process, the fingers’ O-ring pressure would be mostly on sides and bottom.
- Up to 6 weeks into the process, I did notice, minor loss of sensitivity and perhaps ‘extra’ flaccidity. I thought ”it must be part of the process” plus, I must admit I lost some objectivity from the excitement of small gains becoming measurable.
- 2 months into the process and beginning to see small results I made some changes. I decided to go ” full Newbie Technique” as prescribed on this website. That is, 150-200reps/session. I also read on the website that jelqing at 20-50% erection was better, and that ‘edging’ also needed to be done for 10-12mins after each session, to ”help with blood irrigation after each session”.
So, I made all these changes, without really understanding the implications.

> What symptoms do you have?
- Only 3 weeks into the more intense, ‘Full Newbie Technique” , the insensitivity on the sides became more noticeable.
- At flaccid state, the ‘extra’ flaccidity was more visible and pronounced. While standing, the shaft muscle would just fold down at its origin (near bone), similar to an over-bent garden hose
- Erections feel softer in muscle tone.
- Morning wood became sporadic
- Also, we know that normally in any penis state (flaccid - erect) we can move our cocks by contracting its muscles. Well now, I can only move it (by contraction) during erection, not when flaccid. Thanks to the many Kegels I’ve done (and continue to do), I’m able to react/move with the Kegel-related muscle, but get not reaction from the innervation on the penis itself. This my most worrying concern, with no idea if there is any possible remedy. It’s analogous to ”trying/intending” to lift your index finger, and the finger just sits there, doesn’t move.
It may be, that by doing 150-200reps/session palm facing down, squeezing on the sides, I may have ”frayed” some innervations there. This might also explain the insensitivity on both sides.
Curiously, when erect, the sensitivity seems to improve, not fully, but noticeably.
> How long have you had them?
- I stopped jelqing 3 months ago, after reading, a brilliant post by forum member ‘Sparkyx’ (to whom I owe a huge thank you!) His post was a warning to Newbies like myself, identifying the signs of trouble. I think this post should be integral to the Newbie Technique process. It’s critical for other men to understand how to assess the quality of their practice.
So anyhow, I stopped immediately after recognizing the symptoms he describes and let my cock rest, at this point for 3 months.
> Have they been the same over that time or have they got better/worse?
- There have been some improvements: the completely ‘over-flaccid’ state that I characterized as ‘over-bending like a garden hose’ is gone. I now have better muscular tone and my cock hangs down without bend-breaking like a garden hose.
- the insensitivity however, still remains on the sides with the inability to move it, specially when flaccid.
> Have they improved for periods of time (e.g. When you are on holiday or doing different
Work)
- some improvement over time, resting from jelqing, but unrelated to a change of activity
> If symptoms have improved or gone away for periods of time, how long did they improve for?
- What improved, as noted above, is the muscle ‘tone’ at flaccid state. This seem to be a permanent improvement.
> What makes the symptoms better? (think hard about these - anything from less PE/masturbation to drinking more H2O to doing meditation etc. Is useful info)
- For the partial improvement I’ve had, what seems to have worked is simply that I allowed the ‘poor guy’ to rest
> What makes the symptoms worse? (think hard about these - anything from a hard day at work to alcohol or lack of sleep etc. Is useful info)
- There seems to be no change in this regard
> Are there certain times of day the symptoms are better or worse?
- Not in my case
> Are the symptoms better or worse when you are in certain positions (e.g. Sitting, standing, laying prone or supine)?
- This is an interesting question. I noticed that if I’m sitting and cross my legs, ankle-over-knee (not knee-over-knee), my cock might be squeezed by clothing in a way that pinches the skin without my realizing it, due to the insensitivity. Just today I discovered the redness of a pinch on one side and I don’t know when it happened. So, the insensitivity is for sure a serious concern.
> Have you seen a medical professional with your symptoms?
- Not yet. Frankly, I was unconsciously trying to avoid it, though now it’s looking like I’ll have to do it.
> What type of doctor?
- Well, that is a question for this forum. Which doctor would be the right one?
- Are there specialists in ‘male medicine’ of these issues? In general internists could handle it, I would think, but perhaps the wisdom from people in this forum point in other directions. I’d like to hear opinions/suggestions.
> What did they say?
- N/A
> Did you have any tests?
- No, haven’t had any tests. What tests exist for my cock insensitivity condition? What test should I request? Please comment.
> How do you think your condition/symptoms occurred? (Be very honest here, or no-one can really help you, e.g. Don’t say you did a few gentle jelqs if you strangled you penis, or that you did a bit of stretching if you stretched as hard as you could, or that you tried clamping if you wore a constricting device all night…)
- I’ve thought a lot about this and my sense is that it all went wrong when jelqing at less than 50% erection with the same force of the 60-80% erection. I’m thinking I may have squeezed ‘the fellow’ too much, specially at the beginning of the jelqing squeeze, at the top. I now think it may have been a bit too much pressure, on too soft a tissue. This is only my speculation, without any real anatomical understanding of allowable/acceptable range of pressure/force a this location.
> Is there anything else you can add that may be useful to know about yourself or your condition?
- No, I think I’ve fully explained. Should there be any additional clarification needed, please do let me know.
Many thanks,
Mobono
