Heard a snap sound when hanging 20 lbs

Hi everyone,

This is my first post. I’ve been reading the forums and recently became a member. I’ve been doing the newbie routine for around a month now. I started to do different stretches using hand power. I would stretch before a jelqing session. Last night was the 3rd time that I hung a weight from my penis. The reason I did so was because even after all the stretching, reading, and jelqing, my length hadn’t changed at all. Not even a single mm. My girth is okay at a little over 5 inches, which is what I started at. My erections are definitely harder now, but the only part of my penis that has changed is that it is much longer when flaccid, which is nice. About last night: I used a sock around my flaccid penis, then tied it around with a shoelace type string. It works well for short periods (just around 4 minutes until I stop). I used 10 lbs from my weight set the past times, but this time tried 20 lbs. The weight felt huge right away so I held the strings to not put the full force on, as I let go to feel all 20 lbs I heard a very loud and sharp SNAP sound. I didn’t feel any pain at all and nothing else changed. The weight stayed on for around 4 minutes and all was fine. But, that snap sound worries me because it sounded like it came from my penis attachment area. I know because I was knelt over at the time. It’s been a full day and I everything feels fine. I’m wondering if anyone knows what the sound was. Did I snap part of the ligaments? If so, is that a good idea since it may allow for a longer length?

Anyways, I’m not going to be doing anything but the newbie routine and hand stretches from now on. My LOT is around 7-8 o’clock and dramatic. The tug changes the length quite a bit. It’s hard to tell how much since the fat pad moves down too.

Why is length not increases and girth not also (besides longer flaccid)? Also, my penis has only hurt twice in around a month the next day and it wasn’t anything to mention at all really. I read that when it hurts it should be growing after.

Oh, I’m starting off at around 5 length NBP when erect (no stretching) and 5 1/4 girth, so I really want to increase length.

Just to say in advance that I respect the advice given here and the members, and just wanted to give it a little extra about the newbie routine to focus on length. I see why it’s not too great an idea to even go a little extra for a month or two more.

Stop. No more hanging for you. 1 month on the newbie routine is not enough to start hanging. Not even close. 3 months minimum of religious commitment to PE to properly condition and get to know your penis, and then start a proper hanging routine. I’d like to see you search and spend some time researching hanging. A good routine will start out with a solid, proven hanger (no socks or nooses allowed) and will begin with hanging a few pounds and slowly working your way up. Short duration/high weight like you were attempting will likely cause injury, possible shrinkage, and hinder gains that hanging could have given you if done properly. Oh yeah, what you may have heard could have been a lig pop. There’s another term for you to search and read on. Good luck, slow and easy wins this race.

Thank you for the info and advice. I’ve done a lot of reading and got ambitious. The sock and lace was the best I could come up with here. I’ll try to get the parts for the captains wench. I guess I got frustrated reading people who are gaining an inch or more in a month, and the one who who says he is gaining each week (using growth hormone). I hope that this works.

A related question so that I don’t need to make another thread:
I was told by my dentist and his professor that I have extra deep tissue attachments in my jaw, which is more than they had seen in a long time, and that it probably is like that for all of my tissue attachments. Might that be a reason why I’m not gaining any length or girth after a month of doing the newbie routine? If so, what do I do about extra tough tissues? Again, I’d make another post but I got the impression that it’s frowned upon for new guys.

Well, your “lot of reading” wasn’t enough evidently, or you would have known better than to try and hang twenty pounds with only a month of PE experience.

Where is this guy that is gaining weekly and crediting growth hormone?

You are not gaining after a month of the newbie routine because guys don’t gain after a month. More reading needed there also.

You can’t rush gains, only injuries. Now slow down, read some more, stick to the newbie routine and work on your technique.

"Extra deep tissue attachments" is one I haven’t heard before. Could they have meant deeper down as in buried under other muscle, ligaments, etc? Or did they mean deep as in thickness with a significant amount of connective tissue? Either way, heat, probably infrared, would be something I would suggest trying. Here is one thread in a quick search: Infrared (IR) Heat where the highly respected forum member mgus describes the depth (20mm) to which infrared heat can penetrate.

Thanks for the info again. They, the dentist and his prof, both said that I had very much more connective tissue than normal people and that since it is like that for my mouth that it is probably like that for all of my connective tissue. That had me reason that not gaining at all, even using millimeters, is probably due to the extra strong tissues. It is good for weightlifting and jaw strength, but not when wanting to stretch my penis, unfortunately. I take their word for it since it is an excellent medical grad school that I go to.

I’m the guy who’s been using growth hormone, but I don’t know if it has had any effect at all, so I’m not “crediting” it for my gains. I’ve been stretching and jelqing like crazy,(mostly stretching) every chance I get. I’ve even been stretching while driving. I’m probably stretching for two hours per day, on average. I’ve noticed that when I stretch now, it feels like my penis gets stretched to the limits of the ligaments, then just stops. It’s hard to explain. When I started, I would stretch and it was like stretching a rubber band—there was more and more resistance until it felt like I could stretch no more. Now it’s like stretching a string—There is almost no resistance to the stretch until I reach the full stretched length, then it just stops. I’m no doctor, but I think I just had ligaments that needed to be loosened or something. Now that they are stretched out my gains will probably come much more slowly.

I’ve stopped doing the GH for now, also. I’ve been doing steroids for bodybuilding, and I’m going to wait until I start another steroid cycle.

I think I’m going to make a hanger in the coming weeks and then it will be finished for when I’m done the newbie routine. I like projects and have never ordered a single thing through the Internet. I don’t even have a credit card, lol.

In my view the original poster is approaching PE completely wrong. He is foolish indeed.

You clearly haven’t read the forums because you have broke just about every piece of advice people give, if you are injured, I have zero sympathy for you because you have been so stupid.

Let us start again. Some don’t see gains for months, years even, that doesn’t mean you approach PE in a completely shotgun manner. The advice is clear, the newbie routine for 2-3 months AT LEAST, if you have read this and not taken this in, how the hell can we expect you to take in the complexities of hanging?

On hanging, 20lbs is what about 9kg? I’ve only built-up to this weight on weightlifting dumbbells over 2-3 months, yet you are hanging it off your dick after a few weeks? Total madness, 20lbs will be at the upper end of what many experienced hangers do over months/years. Hanging totally isn’t about maximum weight, it is about angle and traction of ligaments and the controlled manner in which you work a routine.

You won’t or are not getting what you should from PE because of your foolish approach. Unless you change this, you may as well leave, because the alternative is your going to need medical help repairing your penis.

Sorry for being so harsh, but when someone breaks every rule in the book and risks serious injury (if not already done) these things have to be said.

My personal view is this poster isn’t mature enough for PE.

I’ll state my golden rules. Allow 12 months for PE. Start slowly, newbie routine for 2-3 months minimum. Read all you can and ensure you know what you are doing and why you are doing it. If anyone cannot follow these simple principles, they should forget PE, or they will end-up doing more damage than good.

Celestialhammer, I don’t know where you read “I read that when it hurts it should be growing after”. This is totally incorrect. You should never feel pain when doing any PE. As you read more, you will see that written very often.
