Heard a snap sound when hanging 20 lbs

This is my first post. I’ve been reading the forums and recently became a member. I’ve been doing the newbie routine for around a month now. I started to do different stretches using hand power. I would stretch before a jelqing session. Last night was the 3rd time that I hung a weight from my penis. The reason I did so was because even after all the stretching, reading, and jelqing, my length hadn’t changed at all. Not even a single mm. My girth is okay at a little over 5 inches, which is what I started at. My erections are definitely harder now, but the only part of my penis that has changed is that it is much longer when flaccid, which is nice. About last night: I used a sock around my flaccid penis, then tied it around with a shoelace type string. It works well for short periods (just around 4 minutes until I stop). I used 10 lbs from my weight set the past times, but this time tried 20 lbs. The weight felt huge right away so I held the strings to not put the full force on, as I let go to feel all 20 lbs I heard a very loud and sharp SNAP sound. I didn’t feel any pain at all and nothing else changed. The weight stayed on for around 4 minutes and all was fine. But, that snap sound worries me because it sounded like it came from my penis attachment area. I know because I was knelt over at the time. It’s been a full day and I everything feels fine. I’m wondering if anyone knows what the sound was. Did I snap part of the ligaments? If so, is that a good idea since it may allow for a longer length?
Anyways, I’m not going to be doing anything but the newbie routine and hand stretches from now on. My LOT is around 7-8 o’clock and dramatic. The tug changes the length quite a bit. It’s hard to tell how much since the fat pad moves down too.
Why is length not increases and girth not also (besides longer flaccid)? Also, my penis has only hurt twice in around a month the next day and it wasn’t anything to mention at all really. I read that when it hurts it should be growing after.
Oh, I’m starting off at around 5 length NBP when erect (no stretching) and 5 1/4 girth, so I really want to increase length.
Just to say in advance that I respect the advice given here and the members, and just wanted to give it a little extra about the newbie routine to focus on length. I see why it’s not too great an idea to even go a little extra for a month or two more.
