Silicone VS Latex Ball Zinger

Hello all, I just had a quick question, I am looking to purchase a ball zinger / Blakoe ring but I did not want to pay $150 for one. I read how to make one from penny’s but I don’t like the idea of using penny’s. I hope you understand.

My question is I looked on ebay for zinger and there is two different people selling them, one of them has a silicone hose and one of them has a latex hose, although both offer zinc and copper. Any suggestions on which is better?

If this is not the correct forum, does anyone know where I may ask this question?

I always thought those things was bull!@#$, have you found any interesting information on if they actually do anything?

Jimdavid : I am assuming they are selling them new, they are talking about what they are making them with so I assume they are not used, I guess I could always message one of them after I make an account.

Bluray : So many site I have read say they do things, many say they don’t, but they really are not that pricey so that’s why I might just get one, I am just stuck on the Latex/Silicone decision. I am pushing for latex though because that is what most people use, and when I was at Wal-Mart yesterday I saw a silicone fridge hose and it wasn’t stretchy at all, latex should be stretchable?

Latex can be very stretchable, more than Silicone I thought. Latex condoms and gloves are very stretchy.but those stupid silicone bracelets you see everyone wearing with stuff engraved into them are pretty tough to stretch, they usually break instead of stretch.

Another Question For Tom Hubbard (re:blakoe ring)

I had both, but when it came time to replace the tubes I ended up using latex.

I just picked up a 10’ roll from my local home depot and was all set.

Some people can have a reaction to latex products so in that case obviously use silicone.

I found silicone too “slippery” and didn’t have quite the same comfort feel as the latex. The latex a bit more give which I prefer.

I wear mine pretty much all the time and change the tubes every couple of weeks.

If your gonna buy one get a latex one, they last longer. And the ones on ebay look just like the ones you can buy and make yourself. So the choice is really up to you, the only upside I can see to buying it on ebay is you don’t have to order from a bunch of places or cut / sand the rods. Latex bud. Latex. I might order one of the latex ones because I can’t see myself trying to cut zinc rods let alone paying $7 for a rod :) Hope this helps!
