It is quite true that most straight men base off their size by looking at porn. The locker room comparison is a hit and miss as showers love to show more than growers do. And flaccid size is not the best indicator of a true erection size (although there is a slight correlation). So a typical straight male would think that 7” is not as big as it really is. When in fact, 7” is above-average, meaning a guy with 7” is bigger than at least 60% of all males (if not an even greater number).

Then we have gays and girls who have personally experienced with other males. What I find interesting is that their view is biased as to what they are seeking after. If you ask a size queen, he or she is going to tell you that there are BIG ONES out there. Their reality is somewhat distorted as that’s what they want to go after. And then there are the group where eagles fly with eagles. A typical hung gay male may tend to go after another hung male; even though there are definitely exceptions as to opposite attraction, it is quite common to see gay personal ads of hung guys going after another hung guy.

To me, the reality of true average is very hard to determine. A range of average would be a better description. But even then, I find an average is best described with reference to ethnicity/race. For example, if I were to randomly pick 100 Caucasian males from Britain (just picking any places really), chances are the average would be around 5.5-6.5”. However, there may be more variances within this group—ie. out of 100 Caucasian males, 10 of them are 8”+ and 10 of them are under 4.5”. The range can differ 3-4” apart.

By the same token, if I were to pick 100 Chinese (be very specific here) males, their average penis is likely to range around 4.5-6” or less. Again, there are some Chinese males that are 7”+ and there are also some that are under 4”. The range can easily be 3”+.

However, if I were to compare Caucasians with Chinese Asians, the difference in the averages would be probably 1/2 - 1” (my best guess based on my personal experiences).

Then there is perceptual differences. A typical Chinese Asian male may be around 5’6 - 5’8, so a 5.5” penis may appear to be like 6”+ on him. Whereas a typical Caucasian may be around 5’8-5’10 in height, so the same 5.5” all of sudden appears to be small.

I’m posting this thread as there are several posts emerging along the lines of guys feeling small when they have 6.5 inches or more bpel.

According to the studies if you have 5.5 to 6 inches, then you are average. Now, most of us don’t want to be average, but it isn't small.

If you know anything about women, you will know that they comment on the pressure that they feel from the media to be perfect according to the images that are presented to them. So the question becomes; Is this attitude of I’m small when I’m really not small coming from the media that you watch?

Lets start with the body and work our way to the penis. Many of the male body images we see are actors and models. These guys don’t do a normal job, in fact working out is part of their 9-5. Now lets take a glance at some made up stats. So, in the porn industry there are probably tens of thousands of male actors globally. So lets base some figures on an exagerated number of there being 1,000,000 male porn actors at any moment, and they are all hung like donkeys.

The global male population of 15-64 year olds is 2,234,860,865, so even if you had seen each and every porn cock out there, you will have only seen ~0.0004% of cocks.

At a realistic level, you’ve probably seen less than 1000 male porn actors (yes some of you will have seen more, you deviants :) ), so this would be ~0.0000004% of cocks from the chosen sample range(The data I have does include 15-17 year olds, but that is the way it is collated).

So, if you are thinking that you are small because of the cocks that you have seen in porn, then you are basing your feelings of inadequacy on seeing less than 0.0000004% of human cocks on the planet, and that is a skewed sample (see NB below) because of the nature of the industry.
