What is the correct way to measure girth and length?

A ruler along the top of your dick, pressed into your fatpad as far as it can go for a Bone Pressed measurement. Resting at the base for a none bone pressed measurement.

A tape measure around your dick for girth. Use a string if you don’t have the tape measure.

What aom91 said, plus a suggestion or two regarding how I am measuring. You really need a rigid ruler for best bone-pressed measures. Practice pushing it against your pubic bone just about where your shaft exits your pubic area (on top side of shaft). Note how it feels when the ruler is pressed in firmly (not to point of discomfort). This bone-pressed measure is for best consistency of measurements over the long term, and is the most accurate way of assessing whether or not you are getting lengthening. When measuring, make sure to have the best degree of erection possible, and keep your shaft at a consistent angle relative to your body from one measuring session to the next. Try to have conditions as close to identical over the course of your measuring. Don’t measure too often as growth is normally quite slow—perhaps every 3-6 months is sensible, though others may disagree.

Non bone-pressed measuring shows you what you’ve got to “work with”, of course, but that measurement can easily vary with changes in body weight since fat tends to accumulate over the pubic bone (varies individually). Many vets here keep a tally of both pressed and non-pressed measures during the course of their PE work.

Don’t hesitate to try out the Search option, as most questions have been asked at one time or another.

Wooden rulers work best. If you are like me and use a metal ruler just pushing the ruler in some hurts so I dont take BP measurements much, only like once a month. It hurts to the point I cant keep it on enough to take a picture. Only long enough to take the measurement.

Wooden rulers are cheap. Your new mission is to buy a wooden ruler!

I would but the ones that I keep coming across have do not start from the edge, but like 1/8 inward. My metalic rulers start from the edge.

Maybe I need to start looking some more.

It doesn’t matter if the wood ruler has that extra little bit. Your really taking measurements over time to look for an increase in length, right? All you have to do is subtract that 1/8” (or whatever it is) to figure your actual length. The ruler is simply an easy way to recognize a positive change (hopefully!) in length, exclusive of where the markings on the ruler’s edge begin. I got mine for $2 at Staples. It has probably 1/16” extra at each end—nothing to worry over.

Then I’m going to Staples, first thing tomorrow. I have to get rid of them damn metal rulers. They feel like they cut into my fatpad.

I bought mine at Staples for $1.29. I ground the extra off on my disc sander. It still has slightly sharp edges that I did not want to file down for fear of messing up the measurements. Next time I measure, I’m going to apply electrical tape to the end, that should help with some of the BP discomfort.

I also really like the method of holding the ruler perpendicular to the floor rather than parallel. I think you get a better BP this way and for pictures especially it just looks better. Here is a perfect example courtesy of dkp123: dkp123 - dkp123 progress thread (now in my signature)

Another possibility for a more comfortable measuring tool would be a plain old yardstick. They usually are thicker than rulers. A simple wood yardstick should be quite cheap. Just chop off what you don’t need. It will be thick enough so that you could lightly round over the edges with sand paper. The numbers are usually bold as well, so photos will be easier to discern. It’s frustrating to look at before & after shots with faint, blurry markings.
